Let’s break down sleep positions because how you sleep can seriously mess with (or support) your spine.

1.Back Sleepers:
•Best for spinal alignment
•Helps reduce pressure on joints
⚠️ Tip: Place a pillow under your knees to support your lower back
❌ Avoid stacking too many pillows under your head—it pushes your neck forward

2. Side Sleepers:
•Great option if you keep your spine neutral
•Use a pillow between your knees to reduce hip and low back strain
⚠️ Tip: Make sure your pillow supports your head without tilting it up or down
❌ Curled-up fetal position can tighten your neck and shoulders over time

3. Stomach Sleepers:
•Tough on your neck (you’re turning it all night)
• Strains your low back and compresses your organs
⚠️ If you can’t break the habit, try a very thin pillow to keep your spine in a neutral position
💡 Better yet: train yourself to fall asleep on your side

If you wake up sore, tight, or with a stiff neck, your sleep position might be the culprit.

“I didn’t believe in it.” Kathy Clary was one who had her doubts. She had no plans to see a chiropractor until her mom, who suffered from severe asthma, showed interest after seeing a sign that chiropractic care might help. Kathy agreed to go, just to support her mom. At the time, Kathy was also dealing with intense back pain that was so severe her husband couldn’t even touch her back without bringing her to tears.

She met Dr. Donna, who realized she was in pain, took X-rays and gently said, “I think I can help you.” Kathy’s reply was honest: “You can try... but I don’t think it’ll work.”

What happened next changed everything. Dr. Donna began adjustments, addressing areas that had been frozen in place from stress and a traumatic fall from a horse years earlier. Kathy cried after her first appointment, not from pain, but from the release and emotion of it all. Dr. Donna personally called her that evening to check in.

She stuck with the care plan. Adjustments, home care, and a lot of trust. And then came the moment she’ll never forget: “The next time I really cried, it was telling Dr. Donna that my husband could hold me, give me a hug and it was wonderful!”
