⚾️ From the Mound to the Midwest: The Heart Behind Canes Midwest ❤️
Just a few years ago, a quiet, overgrown ballpark in Brownsburg, Indiana sat forgotten — empty bleachers, silent fields, and memories fading away.
Today, that same park is alive again — full of laughter, cheering families, and kids chasing their baseball dreams. 🙌
And it’s all thanks to Bill Sampen — former Major League Baseball pitcher and proud owner of Canes Midwest and Samp’s Hack Shack.
Two years ago, Bill bought the abandoned ballpark and completely transformed it. 🌱
✨ Turf now covers every infield.
✨ Facilities are updated and shining.
✨ Families and teams have a place to call home again.
But the best part? You’ll find Bill right in the middle of it all — running the concession stand, chatting with parents, joking with kids, and cheering from the sidelines.
Most of the young players have no idea they’re talking to a former MLB pitcher who once faced some of the game’s greats… and that’s exactly how he likes it. 💬
“We do it because we love the game,” Bill says. “So others can do what they love.”
Beyond the ballpark, Bill runs Samp’s Hack Shack — offering ⚾️ memberships, 💪 lessons, 🧢 team training, 🏕️ camps, and 💥 rentals for baseball and softball players. It’s where hard work meets heart — and where the next generation of athletes is born.
Whether he’s mowing the grass at sunrise or sneaking out to catch a few innings under the lights, Bill Sampen’s love for the game runs deep. ❤️
This Brownsburg ballpark isn’t just a facility — it’s a community comeback story. A place rebuilt by passion, family, and a lifelong love of baseball. ⚾️
