It’s been a busy time at Benchmark! From advocacy work on Capital Hill to learning in Long Beach, we’re all in for pediatric mental healthcare- even if we have to stand on a Senator’s couch to add our NWI pushpin to his map 😉
We are honored to specialize in serving children, tweens & teens via individual and group therapy.

I’m a problem-solver by nature and after ten years of working with families, parents, and teens in several different capacities, I found myself boiling my work down to “if only.” “If only” the kids I worked with as a Juvenile Probation Officer had better coping skills. “If only” the parents I worked with as a Therapist had more tried and true tactics for dealing with their child’s challenging behavior. “If only” parents and children had stronger bonds with one another. “If only” there was a service that bridged the gap between “we’re doing great” and “we need a therapist.” “If only…”
This line of thinking, combined with the fact that childhood mental illness is on the rise, has led me to where I am now- knowing that families need (and DESERVE) better! They need more resources, more support, more guidance. In short, they need Bright Ideas for raising resilient, successful families!
My goal at Benchmark Parenting is to provide quality one-on-one parent coaching sessions and group workshops to help set families up for success! My aim is to help youth learn useful social and emotional skills, as well as effective coping skills for when “life” happens. The work I do with parents builds that solid foundation so that the parent-child relationship can weather the challenges of any age - be it the sleepless nights of infancy, the challenging behaviors of the toddler phase, the sassy back-talk of your tween, and even the “parents are so lame” attitude of the teen years. So, if you’re a Bright Parent looking for Bright Ideas to help make this a successful parenting journey, be sure to “like” and “follow” our page!
