Our Patients Are the Very Best!

This week, I was reminded of how awesome and caring our patients are here at Murfreesboro Optical, and I just had to share the story.

Last week, a patient came in and spoke with me while she patiently waited for my husband, Steve (the optician here), to finish dispensing a pair of glasses.

Somehow, we started talking about cataract surgery, and I mentioned that I was scheduled for the procedure the next day. I admitted I was a little apprehensive, even though I had complete trust in the ophthalmologist performing the surgery (shoutout to Dr. Brett Farmer at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic!).

The patient reassured me, saying she had undergone the surgery herself and that it was no big deal. I was touched by her kindness towards someone she had just met.

A few days later, Steve brought home an envelope containing a lovely note from the patient, emphasizing that everything would be fine. I’ve included a picture of the note, as the kind patient had created the beautiful flower artwork on the cover!

This whole experience reminded me of the power of kindness and how we never know the impact our actions can have on others.

Update on owner Steve Cary: His radiation treatments are DONE! We find out in January how well the radiation has zapped his Stage 1 prostate cancer. Steve is gaining his full strength back slowly - you can't keep a good man down!

******Update Monday, Nov 20th:*****

Steve is halfway through the radiation treatments and is feeling OK. A little less stamina as the treatments progress.

We will continue to be open Mon-Thurs 7:30AM-3:30PM through Thursday, Dec 7th. Closed as usual on Fridays.

A BIG Thank You to all our patients! You have been so kind and patient. We really appreciate you!

To Our Valued Patients:

From Nov 6 – Dec 6, 2023, our office will be closing early at 3:30PM Monday thru Thursday and remain closed on Friday.

Steve is receiving daily radiation therapy for early Stage 1 prostate cancer with a positive prognosis. We have confidence in his doctors and their approach to the problem.

We are sorry for any inconvenience.

If you can’t come in during our open hours of Mon-Thursday 7:30AM – 3:30PM, let us know and we will make arrangements to meet you at another time to take care of you.
