January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.

HPV is very common, and most people will be exposed at some point in their lives. The Gardasil vaccine helps protect against more than 90% of HPV-related cancers and is most effective when given before age 15, when only two doses are needed.

If you have questions about the HPV vaccine, your child’s pediatrician is a great place to start.

All Murfreesboro Medical Clinic locations will be open regular hours tomorrow, January 28th, with the exception of our South Church location, which will be closed due to continued unsafe parking lot conditions.

Patients who have appointments scheduled at the South Church location will receive direct communication regarding moving their appointment to another MMC location or rescheduling.

All MMC Now Family Walk-In Clinic locations will also be open regular hours, with the exception of the South Church location.

Snow days don’t stop sniffles and fevers ❄️

While our Pediatrics offices will be closed today, telehealth visits will be available so your child can still be seen. Call our office at 615-867-8020 or request a visit through the patient portal to schedule.
*Note: Some concerns cannot be safely evaluated through a telehealth visit. If needed, we may recommend an in-person visit or urgent care.

Due to ongoing weather conditions and to continue prioritizing the safety of our patients and staff, all Murfreesboro Medical Clinic locations will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27th.

Our teams will continue monitoring conditions and working to prepare our facilities, including parking lots and walkways, as weather conditions improve.

During the closure, virtual appointments will be available through MMC Now Family Walk-In Clinics and select MMC departments, allowing patients to receive care from home when appropriate. Additional details regarding virtual visit availability will be shared directly with patients.

With winter weather and potential power outages, it’s important for families to be aware of the risks of carbon monoxide exposure. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that can be dangerous, especially for children.

To help keep your family safe:
• Make sure carbon monoxide detectors are installed and working properly on every level of your home
• Never use grills, generators, or fuel-powered heaters indoors or in enclosed spaces
• Keep vents, flues, and chimneys clear of snow and debris
• Never run vehicles inside garages, even with the door open
• Have heating systems checked and maintained regularly

If you suspect carbon monoxide exposure and your child shows symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, or unusual sleepiness, seek medical attention immediately.
