Stones River Manor opened in 1977 as a Christian “Home for the Aged” with 29 living units. Over the years we’ve grown and expanded to meet the needs of the seniors in our community with facilities and services which cover the entire spectrum of senior living.
For many years a campus like ours was known as a CCRC, or “Continuing Care Retirement Community.” In recent years such a campus has come to be known as a “Life Plan Community.” We prefer to regard “The Manor” as a “Planned Life Community” - Your Life, Your Plan.
To provide for your life plan we offer independent living apartments, six levels of assisted living care, including specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care in our Assured Care Center, respite care, adult day care services and a variety of special needs care services in our new Select Care Center. We also offer complete clinical and therapy services, right here on our campus, and our brand new Advanced Care Center provides skilled nursing and in-house rehab services.
Stones River Manor was Murfreesboro’s first home for the aged and is still Rutherford County’s only faith-based, not-for-profit senior living community. Unlike other CCRC’s, or Life Plan Communities, there are no buy-in charges, leases to sign, or complicated contracts to be negotiated. It’s simply month-to-month rental based solely on your level of care.
You will find that Stones River Manor is a place like nowhere else. Yes, we were the first in town so that means we’re the oldest, but we don’t want to look like it; so we keep everything neat, clean and up-to-date. We are constantly improving and adding new features and services. But the main thing we try to do is provide good care, the Christian way, and make our place a home.
Whether you live here or work here, a family member or board member, business partner or one of our volunteers, you are part of the extended Manor family, and this is our home. Many of the new senior living facilities are truly beautiful places, like a nice hotel, and it’s nice to stay in a fancy hotel now and then, but everyone knows there’s no place like home.
