In our 50th year in Rutherford and Cannon counties, JICL continues providing support and raising awareness for technology and employment opportunities.

Our MAPS Coaches spent the day testing out new Meta Quest Virtual Reality apps and the results are exciting!

In services, VR is used to:
•Try out workplace simulations to prepare participants for jobs
•Practice social interactions and communication skills in a safe space
•Explore new community environments before experiencing them in person
•Build independence with daily living skills like cooking, budgeting, and safety awareness

By testing new apps firsthand, Journeys makes sure participants have access to fun, engaging, and practical learning tools that support their goals for independence and community life. Every day is a step toward new opportunities when technology and coaching come together!
