These are things I do not care to apologize for when they have to do with my overall well being.

1. Going to bed "early"

I need a full night of rest in order to feel my best and do my best.

2. Not responding to texts right away

Being glued to my phone is not something that I care to do, and because of that, I won't be responding to texts right away.

3. Moving how I want

I decided a long time ago I would move in a way that felt good to me and my body, not because someone else told me to. Some people love to run. Some people love pilates. Some people love to lift. Pick what you like and stick with it.

Just like the seasons, our bodies and minds move through cycles. Some days call for grounding and stillness, others for heat and flow. Yoga shifts with you—it can be gentle in winter, energizing in spring, expansive in summer, and restorative in fall. Wherever you are, whatever season you’re in, your practice can meet you there.

As we head into fall, it is important to remember to give yourself grace as you head into a new season.

A new season means that your rhythms will shift, and grace is needed as that shifts.

I talk to a lot of people who feel like strangers in their own body.

That's not how it's supposed to be.

Our Story

Kira Whitaker, C-IAYT

Kira is the owner and operator of Arden Yoga & Wellness. When opening Arden Yoga in the summer of 2012, Kira had one important goal in mind: create a space where people could heal their bodies and relax their minds. Since opening, Arden Yoga has continued to grow and thrive in its hometown of Murfreesboro, TN. Arden Yoga offers small group classes with a friendly, non-dogmatic vibe that makes clients feel invited and at ease on their mats. Kira also uses her strong background in nursing and rehabilitation for a “therapeutic yoga” approach for her private clientele.
