I repeat: there is no magic pill. There are supports and solutions that can help, and there are things that may fill in the gaps, but nothing will replace the fundamentals.

Period.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying or doesn't understand how the body and health work.

Before you start buying random things on Amazon or going on extreme fasts, here's what you need to focus on first:

1. Get plenty of sleep.

2. Drink water.

3. Move your body.

4. Build healthy, face-to-face relationships and community.

5. Nourish your body with foods that make you feel good.

True rest should be restorative.

It should refill your cup.
It shouldn't be total escapism OR a distraction.
It should be intentional.

Purposeful.

If you're still burnt out, tired, and overwhelmed after you "rest," it isn't rest.

PS: A great way to start is on a yoga mat :)

During a busy time of year, find time to lean into the season in the name of your health.

-Eat warm, cooked foods
-Move when you can (even if it's just a walk)
-Sit with people you love

There will be a time for goal setting and pushing again🤍

This time of year, when you're extra busy with social activities and your regular routine is off, remember that a little movement goes a long way.

- Stand up and stretch for 5 minutes.

- Go outside and walk to the mailbox.

- Take a few deep, long inhales and exhale slowly.

Just because your routine is different (or maybe doesn't exist) right now, doesn't mean you can't find those micro moments to move and tune in.

Your body will thank you later.

Our Story

Kira Whitaker, C-IAYT

Kira is the owner and operator of Arden Yoga & Wellness. When opening Arden Yoga in the summer of 2012, Kira had one important goal in mind: create a space where people could heal their bodies and relax their minds. Since opening, Arden Yoga has continued to grow and thrive in its hometown of Murfreesboro, TN. Arden Yoga offers small group classes with a friendly, non-dogmatic vibe that makes clients feel invited and at ease on their mats. Kira also uses her strong background in nursing and rehabilitation for a “therapeutic yoga” approach for her private clientele.
