Happy Midwifery Week to all the incredible Midwives and Midwives-in-training! The work we do truly changes lives.

Balancing full-time midwifery school and training while also serving as a full-time birth doula is no small task. Exhaustion is real, but so is the joy. Every birth reminds me why I’m here: this work is sacred, humbling, and deeply rewarding.

Stepping into the Primary Midwife Under Supervision role has been an incredible milestone. After over three years of studying, training, and growing, I’m still in awe of how this calling continues to shape my heart and purpose. Witnessing new life enter the world and the powerful strength of birthing families is the greatest honor.

✨ I’m now accepting clients for home births as a Midwife Under Supervision, guided by my amazing preceptor, .birth.services . If you’ve been considering a home birth, let’s connect and see if it’s the right fit for you and your family.

I’ve attended 9 births in a month.
I get a month off from doula births, but do still have midwifery client births with preceptor.
I plan to get some type of self care time♥️

‼️WHERE IS THE VILLAGE that comes after BABIES ARE BORN?!

I’ve witnessed this lacking in many families. Check on the mama first before asking about the baby.

🚨The 4th Trimester is just as important as the pregnancy! Be of support for those postpartum mamas! Make meals, order food to be dropped off, do laundry/dishes, watch baby so they can sleep, help with siblings, & do a mental check in to see how they are doing!

🙄PLEASE do more than come over for a few mintues to hold a baby or to get your selfie with baby! Ask if she needs a coffee or food on your way to visit & be prepared to do something!

🛑 DO NOT POP UP UNANNOUNCED unless you know she truly needs a pop up due to not sounding like herself.

🎯POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION is REAL! It can stem from being overwhelmed with NO VILLAGE to lean on, when you are exhausted MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY, & EMOTIONALLY!

🤚🏽DO NOT SAY YOU CAN HELP OUT, IF YOU CAN NOT!! 🤷🏽‍♀️

✨ Big Update ✨
I’ve officially entered Phase 3 of Midwifery School – stepping into my role as a student midwife under supervision! This means I’ll be running prenatal visits and attending births more intentionally as I move closer to my dream of becoming a licensed midwife. 🌿

With this transition, I may not be able to take on as many doula clients since midwifery births require more of my time and presence. To help me continue this journey, I’m inviting anyone who feels led to support my tuition and midwifery expenses.

I’m hoping to finish school in a year, and your donations will directly assist with tuition, fees, and the costs needed to complete my program. Every contribution—big or small—helps bring me closer to serving families in my community as a midwife. 💜

✨ Exciting Milestone Alert! ✨

This week kicks off Phase 3 of midwifery school—and I am officially stepping into my role as a STUDENT MIDWIFE UNDER the SUPERVISION of my AMAZING PRECEPTOR of .birth.services ! 🙌🏾

That means I’ll be moving into running prenatal visits and catching babies on purpose now! 🍼✨ This is such a huge step, and I’m so grateful to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

To my preceptor, Jennifer—thank you for your guidance, trust, and for walking this journey with me. I’m ready to learn, grow, and embrace every responsibility you place in my hands. LET’S GO! 💪🏾

And to the families who have already welcomed me into their sacred spaces—thank you for trusting me as I continue becoming the midwife I’m called to be. 💕🥰🙏🏽

I asked God to give me @ least 24 hours to rest between any upcoming births, & he did just that🙌🏽

Doula baby girl #188 came Tuesday right @ home & baby boy #189 decided to make his appearance today with great nurses & support! Both of these mamas worked HELLA hard to meet their babies! So proud of you both!
Birth is so Tough, but you mamas are so much tougher! So proud of your strength 💪🏽♥️
