Happy New Year! I think most can agree that 2025 had its challenges, losses, struggles, and also victories. I am welcoming 2026 with open arms and ready to see all that God has for me, my family, Eagles Rest Counseling and Eagles Rest Counseling Training Center.
I am also open to trying new things in my own growth and healing journey. Like being more mindful, less complaining, more embracing Sabbaths, less critical of myself and others, etc. And I hope you are too.
If you are open to trying new things like seeking pastoral counseling or you feel God tugging on your heart to become a Pastoral Counselor, I am open and ready to see new clients and new students. If you are not ready to take that leap yet, start somewhere, anywhere to embrace movement and growth and become all that God has planned for you.
I'm including in this post a Mindfulness Calendar for January 2026. If you do nothing else, maybe focus just on January 24 - Step away from screens for 5 minutes and let your mind rest. Your mind needs a break and a rest, just like your body needs fuel and rest after running a marathon. Just sayin'!

Do you practice mindfulness? If not, here is a helpful calendar to get you started with a daily exercise of being mindful. Being mindful can help you deal with powerful emotions that are difficult to regulate.
If you do practice mindfulness on a regular basis, what are some ways that you use that would help others?
If you want to know more on how to become a Christ-Centered mindful person, have difficulty in regulating your emotions, have a desire to face those difficult emotions and effectively deal with them, let's talk. I would love to work one on one with you.

This is a picture from Monday (1/13/25) of this week. I had no idea going into the week the God moments I would have. This picture represents much of what I experienced. Hope for the future - snow is melting slowly!! Peace in the present - Old glory still flies high and sunsets will always be my reminder that God is in control and I can take hold of His peace right here and now!! Have a blessed weekend! Look for God in all things and go in peace!

Happy New Year!

It’s been a great start to 2025! Looking forward to a year of experiencing more of God’s Love, Joy, Peace, and Hope!

I always look forward to getting a new journal and new pen at the beginning of the year. This year I made the decision to go digital and pay the yearly fee for the Journey app.

For me, journaling has always been a great coping tool for processing the ups and downs of my life.

Do you journal? Do you use an app or paper and pen?

Do you need an outlet to process your thoughts? Make it a goal to start this year.
