When children have Attention‑Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), behavior issues like tantrums, outbursts, and defiance often followβ€”not because these are core ADHD symptoms, but because the challenges of inattention, impulsivity, and emotional‐regulation strain daily life. The article explains how repetitive or boring tasks can trigger frustration and avoidance, and why traditional discipline often falls short. More effective strategies include providing structure, giving clear instructions, catching children behaving well, and using consistent positive reinforcement. For children with severe behavior patterns, combining parent training, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and medication can lead to better outcomes.

The term β€œADD” (attention-deficit disorder) is an older label and has essentially been replaced by the broader term β€œADHD” (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). The modern diagnosis of ADHD covers both inattentive symptoms and, when present, hyperactive/impulsive symptoms. Even if a child doesn’t show hyperactivity, they may still be diagnosed with ADHD.

ADHD paralysis isn’t a literal paralysisβ€”it’s that deeply frustrating feeling when someone with ADHD wants to begin a task or make a decision but simply can’t. It happens when challenges like time-management trouble, procrastination, and executive-function overload collide. Recognizing its different types (mental paralysis, choice paralysis, task paralysis) helps build understanding and compassionβ€”and using strategies like body doubling, breaking tasks into small chunks, or changing the environment can help get β€œunstuck.”

It’s common for kids to have tantrums or feel irritable sometimes, but persistent or intense outburstsβ€”especially past the age when they’re expected to fadeβ€”may signal deeper issues. You’ll want to pay attention if your child’s anger is dangerous, is causing major problems at school or with friends, or if they themselves feel out of control. Often, big anger episodes relate to frustration and underlying struggles like sensory overload, anxiety, learning difficulties, or conditions such as ADHD or autism. From there, the path forward includes identifying what triggers the outbursts, responding with calm consistency and clear consequences, and building up a toolkit of self-soothing and emotion-regulation skills.

It's . Diabetes is a chronic medical condition that causes problems with the body's ability to convert food into fuel for the body. If left unmanaged, diabetes can damage the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, eyes, and nervous system over many years.
There are two types of diabetes: Type 1 and Type 2. Most children with diabetes have Type 1, which is when they do not produce enough insulin to help the body use sugar. Therefore, sugar builds up in the bloodstream. In Type 2 diabetes, the pancreas makes less insulin than it used to and the body becomes resistant to insulin.
There are many ways to prevent diabetes in children and also manage the disease for children who have it so that they can live healthy and normal lives. Check out this guide for more info and resources on how to control diabetes in children.
"Managing the disease focuses on blood sugar monitoring, treatment such as insulin therapy, given as multiple injections per day or through an insulin pump, and maintaining a healthy diet. Keeping blood sugars within a normal range reΒduces is important and lowers the risk of long-term health problems related to poor diabetes control. In addition to a healthy diet, at least thirty minutes of exercise a day can help children manΒage their disease as well."

Premature infants have a higher rate of health problems and disabilities. Here are some of the common issues in preemies and info about how they're treated. If you have any concerns about your baby's health or if they require special care, contact our office.
"RDS is a breathing disorder related to the baby's immature lungs. It occurs because the lungs of preterm babies often lack surfactant, a liquid substance that allows the lungs to remain expanded.
Artificial surfactants can be used to treat these babies, along with a ventilator to help them breathe better and maintain adequate oxygen levels in their blood."

Confidence helps children try new things, recover from mistakes, and build resilience. This article shares practical ways parents can nurture self-esteem, such as praising effort instead of perfection, encouraging independence, letting kids solve problems on their own, and modeling confidence through your own actions. With patience and support, you can help your child believe in their abilities and face challenges with courage.

What is ADHD?
is a common neurodevelopmental condition characterized by patterns of inattention (difficulty keeping focus), hyperactivity (excess movement or restlessness), and impulsivity (acting without thinking). It begins in childhood and can affect learning, relationships, and daily routines β€” and for many people, the effects continue into adulthood.

If your elementary-school-aged child is unwell, you should consider keeping them home if any of the following are true:

They’ve had a fever over 101 Β°F (about 38.3 Β°C) in the past 24 hours.

They’ve experienced vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours.

They’re simply too unwell to actively participate in class.

If none of those apply β€” for example, the child only has a runny nose, mild headache, or is otherwise improving β€” they may be okay to attend school, depending on your local school’s rules. Always check with your local school or district policies and consult your child’s pediatrician for personalized guidance.

A little caffeine may perk up adultsβ€”but for kids, it’s a different story. 🚫
Caffeine can raise heart rate and blood pressure, cause restlessness or anxiety, upset the stomach, and interfere with sleep.
πŸ‘‰ Children under 12 should avoid caffeine completely.
πŸ‘‰ Teens 12–18 should limit it to no more than 100 mg per day (about one small cup of coffee).
Remember, caffeine can hide in sodas, energy drinks, and even snacksβ€”so check those labels!

The fourth trimester refers to the first 12 weeks after your baby’s birth β€” a special period of adjustment for both baby and parents. 🀱
During this time:
πŸ”Ή Babies thrive with skin-to-skin contact, gentle rocking, frequent feeds, and room-sharing with parents.
πŸ”Ή Parents benefit from rest, support from loved ones, open communication with healthcare providers, and self-care.
