Persephone’s story is often told as a tale of loss.

The maiden taken into the Underworld.
The daughter separated from her mother.
The goddess who must divide her time between light and darkness.

But the deeper myth reveals something far more powerful.

Persephone did not remain a visitor in the Underworld.

She became its queen.

In the earliest Greek texts, Persephone sits beside Hades not as a captive, but as a ruler whose authority even the dead must respect. Souls entering the realm of the dead were said to fear her judgment as much as they feared his.

She held power over life, death, and rebirth.

And the symbol of that power was the pomegranate.

When Persephone ate the seeds of the fruit, she bound herself to the Underworld. Many see this moment as tragedy.

But in another light, it becomes something else entirely.

A choice.

Because Persephone did not remain the girl who wandered through flower fields untouched by hardship. She became someone who understood both worlds.

Spring and shadow.
Growth and decay.
Life and death.

This dual nature is why Persephone resonates so strongly with witches and those walking spiritual paths of transformation.

She reminds us that there are seasons in life when everything changes.

Moments when we descend into places we never expected to go grief, loss, endings that reshape us.

But those descents do not always break us.

Sometimes they crown us.

Because Persephone’s greatest lesson is not about being taken into darkness.

It is about learning how to sit on the throne once you arrive there.

And realizing that the person who returns to the surface is no longer the same one who first stepped into the shadows.

Hello Wild Kin ✨

I just wanted to thank you all again for you love, support & patience. Transitions take time and being in a small town things tend to slow down during the winter. We did take advantage of that being cyclical creatures ourselves & I recognize retail hours have been a bit random. I ask that you extend your patience a little longer as we sort out our upcoming spring/summer hours & new offers. I (Skye) will be taking a pause from readings, except for Saturdays until March 13th.

Melissa & I have so many beautiful ideas & this fire horse energy is calling us to action 💥

We are in the planning stages of an Ostara/ Spring Equinox Event & will update you on that soon 💕
