PALMETTO GIVING DAY is almost here — and there are so many ways to support SOS Care!

Whether you want to give, rally your friends, or simply help us spread the word, every action strengthens the community that surrounds autistic and intellectually disabled individuals here in the Grand Strand.

💙 1. Make a Pledge
If you already know you want to give on May 6–7, you can make a pledge now. It takes less than a minute and helps SOS Care plan for impact.

Pledge form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfaQXsNYSpbwDNDqfGtTnqHxXod6NLwZByj15b09qX5rN2mxw/viewform

💛 2. Become a Peer‑to‑Peer Fundraiser
This is one of the most powerful ways to help. You create your own mini‑fundraising page, share your story, and invite your circle to support SOS Care.

We're posting a short video that walks you through exactly how to set it up:

Your voice helps us reach people we could never reach alone.

💚 3. Spread the Word
🔹A share, a repost, a text to a friend — it all matters.
🔹Tell someone why SOS Care is important to you.
🔹Invite them to learn more or give during the 36‑hour event.

☕Let’s caffeinate your crew and uplift our community at the same time.

The Bean Dreaming mobile coffee truck isn’t your ordinary coffee truck. It is a mobile coffee truck training adults with intellectual disabilities and autism to become coffee baristas in an innovative and inclusive approach to vocational training and employment. Our barista’s goal is to become employed in the community after mastering the skills needed to succeed outside of SOS Care.

WOW! We can’t thank The Harley Shop at the Beach enough for their incredible support of our 8th Annual Ride for Autism in memory of Ryan Derr.

This year was our biggest ride to date, and we are so grateful to everyone who showed up—not only to support SOS Care’s Project Lifesaver Program, but also to stand beside the Derr family during this difficult time.

We know Ryan gave us picture-perfect weather and brought everyone together for a record-breaking ride. 💙

A special thank you to the Horry County Police Department for the ride es**rt, SC-1 Axemen, Breda Catering, Bean Dreaming, the Beaver Bar, all of our generous sponsors, and our amazing volunteers—we truly couldn’t do this without you!

🌳✨ A New Chapter Opens at Oak Tree Farm ✨🌳

Tuesday, we cut the ribbon on Phase 4 — and with it, we opened the doors to 48 new homes filled with possibility, independence, and belonging.

What began as a vision is now a thriving, growing community where adults with autism and intellectual disabilities can live, learn, and flourish. Seeing these new homes come to life — and watching future residents walk through their doorways with pride — is a moment we’ll carry for a long time.

This milestone isn’t just about buildings.
It’s about dignity. Opportunity. Community. Hope.

To everyone who has supported Oak Tree Farm — families, donors, volunteers, partners, neighbors — you helped make this expansion possible. And today, your impact is written into every porch light, every sidewalk, every key handed to a new resident ready to begin their next chapter.

Here’s to growth.
Here’s to inclusion.

Here’s to 48 new reasons to celebrate.

💚 Welcome home, Phase 4.
The best is still ahead.

The ribbon was cut Tuesday, April 21 on Phase 4 of Oak Tree Farm, an SOS Care Community at 2358 Oak Tree Farm Lane in Conway. A crowd of residents, parents, volunteers, elected officials and business leaders came out to witness the event.
