Tree pollen is surging across the Deep South 🌿
Warmer-than-normal temperatures are pushing trees to bloom, taking us from moderate Wednesday to high Thursday through Saturday locally. On top of that, a breezy south wind is importing additional pollen straight from the Gulf Coast — so even if nothing nearby looks active, the air will still be loaded.
Southerly winds are literally carrying some of that Gulf Coast pollen northward, adding to what’s already blooming locally. That means stronger symptoms, especially on warm, breezy afternoons.
The South has one of the longest, most intense allergy seasons thanks to warmer winters
