A center for grieving children and families located in Northwest Alabama.

Before The Healing Place the majority of the children/teens:

Have difficulty talking about the deceased loved one/death of loved one
Experience anger, guilt
Have difficulty sleeping
Have a hard time concentrating on schoolwork
Feel alone, like they are the only one grieving

After The Healing Place the majority of the children/teens:

Are able to talk about the death of their loved one
Learn healthy ways to resolve anger and guilt
Sleeping improves
Schoolwork improves
Do not feel alone anymore

💙Adult Grief Support Group💙

THP is offering an Adult Grief Support Group Monday, November 10th, at 12pm.

This group is open to ANY adult who has or is experiencing grief. This group is in addition to our bi-weekly all ages support group. Any adults are welcome to join us regardless of type of loss or previous THP involvement. We hope to continue offering this group monthly to meet the need of adults experiencing grief in our community.

This group will focus on finding meaning in your grief.

RSVP is not required to participate in this group but is encouraged. To RSVP you may call our office at 256-383-7133, email officemanager@thehealingplaceinfo.org, or message us directly.

💙 Group will begin at 5:30 with dinner!

💙 At 6pm we will separate into our four age groups: littles, middles, teens, and adults.

💙 The Healing Place invites the community to attend our annual Hope for the Holidays, a special evening program on Tuesday, November 4th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at The Healing Place.

💙 The holiday season can be a difficult time for individuals and families who have experienced the death of a loved one. Hope for the Holidays is designed to provide encouragement, support, and practical tools to help participants not only cope with the holidays but also find moments of peace and even joy.

💙 Guest speakers include Chad Hess, Pastor of Woodmont Baptist Church, and Mary Jane Darby from Day by Day, who will share compassionate insights and strategies for navigating grief during the holiday season.

💙Childcare will be provided for ages 3 and up with an RSVP.

🌟November is National Children’s Grief Awareness Month! Each November, The Healing Place partners with local restaurants and businesses who host spirit/fundraising nights to raise funds that help THP continue our mission of supporting grieving children and families. This November we are thankful to have so much support! Check out the Spirit Night Calendar to see where you can go to support THP by dining in or carrying out!

🌟November 3rd: Volunteer Training! If you have reached out about volunteering with THP recently, this one is for you. I’d you haven’t already committed to attend our volunteer training please visit our website at thehealingplaceinfo.org and fill out a form!
