Tenebrae, which is a Latin word meaning “shadows” has been observed in the church of Jesus Christ since the fourth century. Traditionally, the church continues to darken throughout the service, ending with the darkness of the Son of God lying in the tomb. On this Good Friday we marvel at the depth of the suffering our Savior was willing to experience so that we might never experience the depths of suffering we truly deserve.

Maundy Thursday is a solemn yet joyous service centering on the institution of Holy Communion, Christ’s command to love one another, and his servant-act of washing feet. It highlights Christ presence in the sacrament and prepares us for Good Friday ✝️

Today we said “see you later” to our friend Tom O’Laughlin. Tom has been a resident at Stoney Creek for 25 years! We will miss him❤️ God bless you, Tom! A big thank you to Tom’s daughter Dawn for planning his going away party and bringing in food!

🎳 Wii Bowling tournament today 🎳 Congratulations to Kathy Wentland and Jan Fleming for taking first place! Barb Vaccarella and Doris Meinecke fought hard and came in second! Kathy Wentland took home the title of highest scorer with a 207 game!
