Have you ever wondered what it takes to become an animal chiropractor? It is much more involved than taking a weekend clinic or seminar. In the United States, in order to even register for any of the qualified certification courses, you must be either a DVM or DC in good standing. Then after passing the over 200 hour course, you must take and pass either the IVCA or AVCA certification exam. Each state has different laws about practicing chiropractic with animals, so it is important to find a chiropractor who has become properly certified and is familiar with the laws in your state. Dr. Emma is excited to announce that Equinox Chiropractic is one of the local recipients of the 2025 Comcast RISE grant! She is thankful for the opportunity to make some necessary improvements to technology in the office, and expand on services to the Greater Muskegon Area.

"I have been a human and equine chiropractor for almost a decade.
I frequently get asked to look at clients' tack to see if it fits, as riders are becoming more aware of how tack fit, particularly saddles, affect their horses' health and performance.
In my 240+ hour animal chiropractic certification program, they spent less than an hour on saddle fit training, though did stress the importance of it to horses and their musculoskeletal health.
The S4L program has given me a very in depth, science based evaluation process to help both my human and equine clients assess their saddle fit.
It gives a much more objective approach that the client can see with their own eyes.
I look forward to being able to help both horses and riders improve their health and longevity on another level."

You may have noticed some extra vehicles in and out of our parking lot at the Summit Ave Office. The building has been purchased by new owners, and they are doing some renovations in Suite A and around the building. Do not worry, Dr. Emma isn't going anywhere, and there will be no interruption to business on her side of the building. The improvements should be all positive and we look forward to the new business moving in next door once everything is updated. Stay tuned!

Bowen was an active participant in his own saddle fitting evaluation today. Since Dr. Emma is getting really close to completing her certification program, he had to double check all of her work to make sure she finishes strong.
