Public Health - Muskegon County Health Promotion, Disease Prevention, Environmental Health Protection

The governmental public health agency has a unique role to see that vital elements are in place and the mission is adequately addressed. This role is accomplished by implementation of the core functions of public health: assessment of information on the health of the community, comprehensive public health policy development and the assurance that public health services are provided in the community.

Good Morning Muskegon County,
We have volunteers out today doing damage assessment. They have identification and are wearing Muskegon County safety vests.

They are not contractors, not selling anything, they are asking questions about damage so we can collect the necessary information in order to request state and federal assistance.

Thank you for your help!

A life-saving resource is now more accessible in our community.

Trinity Health Michigan and Public Health - Muskegon County have partnered to install FREE NARCANยฎ (naloxone) nasal spray vending machines at four Trinity Health locations and the Muskegon County Health Department.

Narcan is a simple, easy-to-use medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and restore breathing, buying critical time until emergency responders arrive. Making this tool readily available is an important step in addressing the opioid crisis and saving lives.
