Why do we implement so much resistance training into our members workouts?
The reason for this is because as we age, we lose 1% of our total muscle per year starting around 30-35 years old. As we get closer to 60-70 years old, that number jumps to about 3%.
When we lose muscle, not only does our metabolism slow down, but our ability to handle simple daily tasks also decreases! Hence why we tend to fall more as we get older.
Strength training combats this from happening. It slows down the aging process by keeping our metabolisms high and it makes sure that we can still function at a high level as we age!
This is why strength training is such a major component of our programming.
