In a powerful ad shown during Sunday’s Super Bowl, eight Epstein survivors demanded the release of the remaining files.

Released with numerous redactions, the Epstein files protect abusers' identities and directly conflict with Congress' call for transparency and accountability. This, combined with the exposure of some victims’ confidential information, breaks trust for all survivors.

Survivors should never have to choose between accountability and safety.

✨ Only three weeks until the 2026 Victims Matter Rally and Advocacy Day!

On Thursday, March 5th, join the South Carolina Victim Assistance Network (SCVAN), SCCADVASA, community partners, and survivors and their families at the SC State House to make your voice heard and support survivors. This year’s event will offer an opportunity for attendees to engage with their elected officials to raise awareness about the barriers faced by victims throughout the state by asking their representative(s) to briefly leave the legislative floor and speak with them in the State House lobby.

In preparation for the day, participants are encouraged to attend next week's “Your Voice Matters” online training for an overview of pending legislation potentially impacting survivor access to services and to learn practical ways to engage with elected officials and craft effective personal stories to help build legislative support.

Two “Your Voice Matters” online training sessions will be held:

For Victims, their Families, and the Public:
Tuesday, February 17
6:00 – 7:00 pm

For Advocates (approved for 1.0 VSP credit):
Wednesday, February 18
1:00 – 2:00 pm

➡️ Please register for the session that best applies to you: sccadvasa.org/victims-matter

Last week, the Senate unanimously passed bipartisan legislation granting victims of nonconsensual, sexually explicit allows victims to sue creators and distributors of this image-based sexual abuse and levies fines of up to $250,000 per violation. This is the second time the Senate has passed the bill.

Co-sponsored by Senators Dick Durbin (IL) and Lindsey Graham (SC), the Defiance (Disrupt Explicit Forged Images and Non-Consensual Edits) Act now advances to the House of Representatives where it has been stalled.

A deepfake is an image or video created using artificial intelligence (AI) that has been altered to misrepresent someone doing or saying something they did not do. Over 90% of online deepfakes are nonconsensual sexual content and nearly all victims are women.

Open communication with your partner about boundaries is key to a healthy, consensual relationship. Consent means respecting these boundaries and never making assumptions about what your partner is ready to do. Partners feel safe when they can freely communicate about what they want, and consent is an ongoing conversation.
