As the largest sponsor of graduate medical education (GME) programs in the United States, we offered 1,982 positions for HCA Healthcare’s July 2021 GME programs last month. Known as “Match Day”, the annual event occurs every third Friday in March and marks a marks a major milestone in a physician’s healthcare career. While this year’s festivities looked a little different due to the pandemic, we were thrilled to unite and welcome our newly matched residents and fellows in our first ever “Virtual Match Day”.

The celebration included a virtual photo booth, hospital spotlights and virtual visits from Sam Hazen, chief executive officer at HCA Healthcare, and Dr. Michael Cuffe, the president of HCA Healthcare’s Physician’s Services Group.
