Gunner brought home the ribbons but Barrett also really impressed me this weekend too!

We are well into his teenage phase and have been really focusing on having fun together and being well adjusted in busy public settings. He settled beautifully for me and was very polite with lots of other people and dogs around us. He even got to get some pets from one of my fellow competitors and only gave the tiniest baby jump when she went to stop petting him (his factory settings came with springs in his feet, it’s a work in progress lol)! 🤣

It helps that he absolutely loves the salmon pouches I recently stocked up on too! 🥰

Gunner and I traveled to Greater Columbia Obedience Club this weekend to compete in their first ever Scentwork trial and we had so much fun! We were entered in 9 runs and finished the weekend with 5 Q’s, 4 NQ’s, 3rd Place Containers trial 1, and 3rd Place Interiors trial 2! 🎉

I asked a lot of my little house hippo this weekend and boy did he impress me. We navigated a very busy parking lot, tight enclosed spaces with other competitors and volunteers, and lots of other dogs (as expected in a trial setting) and I am so proud of the way my sensitive, opinionated boy handled himself!

We’ve worked so hard to get where we are today and even though he didn’t Q on every single run I still consider it a massive win for us because he worked beautifully for me and when he was overwhelmed he very clearly fell back into the pattern games we’ve worked on (talk about a strong reinforcement history 🤣).

We walked away with new things learned, at least 1 Q in each element, two 3rd placements, and some new friends too! ❤️

Happy Halloween! 👻

We’re spending this Halloween watching movies and cuddling on the couch! I usually decorate and pass out candy but this month has been so busy I decided to take a break and just enjoy the holiday for myself, which the boys are very happy about since they’re getting extra couch cuddles this evening!

I attended Spooky Night hosted by and I think we have found a new Halloween tradition! 🎃

This adorable farm is located right in my home town where you can find fresh produce, a lovely nursery, and it is also home to all of the animals of 🐮 These events raise funds to help support the animals who call the farm home. If you’re in town, go check them out and get a chance to see all of the spooky little cuties including their highland cow, Chestnut! 👻

I promise we’re alive! 🤣

Life got a little too busy there for a minute but I finally feel like I’m getting back on track. We’re spending most of this month at home prepping for some events next month and December. I’m excited for the trials we have coming up and some other things in the works!
