I specialize in working with women and teen's who are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, self esteem issues and career counseling. I enjoy helping my clients to identify their issues and guide them with changes that need to be made to improve their lives.
A bit about me… My life’s passion has been driven towards personal development, the psychology of happiness and helping others to achieve their life goals. I began my professional training at Kent State University in Kent, OH, and further trained and developed my skills at Florida Gulf Coast University and Edison College in Ft Myers, FL. I completed my BA degree in Communications from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ and also became a Certified Career Coach from the Center for Executive and Career Coaching based in Sarasota, FL. To hone my counseling skills further I earned by Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University in Myrtle Beach, SC. After passing the National Counselor’s Examination and completing my post graduate two year training as a LPC-I, I became certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
During my journey, I have been able to support clients as they rediscover forgotten aspirations, take a stand for the person they wish to be, and live a bolder and more creative life. If you’re interested in seeing yourself in a new way, owning and directing your life story, re-framing your fears and obstacles, or opening up to a world of new possibilities, I am ready to walk beside you and help you on your journey.

Feeling "stuck" and frustrated because of a traumatic life experience or chronic stress? Do you have chronic or irrational fear or phobias? I provide professional trauma resolution utilizing cutting edge models of therapy. I help people regain their ability to regulate and normalize the oftentimes devastating feelings and sensations that can overwhelm your life following trauma.
These methods are different than traditional "talk therapy" in that the body and it's multitude of symptoms are addressed directly. Through gentle and safe experiential and somatic connection, the body can learn to complete and move the "stuck" energy out for good!
I am a certified clinical trauma specialist as well as a long time service animal advocate.

Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction results in the biggest step in your life. If you are feeling overwhelmed with life’s challenges and struggles; I am sure there have been many times when it has been hard just to put one foot in front of the other. Therapy allows you to begin that small step toward a brighter, better tomorrow with a caring and supportive professional who will walk along side you as you discover your inner strengths and your life’s purpose.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have experience with trauma-related issues, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief/loss, relationship challenges, adjustment difficulties, career issues and parenting struggles. My specialty has surrounded women’s issues; however, I have also worked with children and adolescents to minimize behavioral problems and high-risk behaviors while increasing daily living skills and improving overall self-esteem. When working with children, I have worked closely with parents to identify specific problems and to determine practical solutions using evidence-based behavioral approaches.
My work in the field began in 2009 with treating individuals suffering from substance abuse and mental health challenges. I also worked with women with histories of trauma and facilitated therapeutic groups surrounding trauma-informed care. I have provided intensive in-home services, community support and outpatient therapy in a variety of settings. I have received training in trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral interventions in my work with children, youth and women.
I offer a supportive, collaborative and safe environment through a counseling approach that is insight-oriented, strength-based, and solution-focused. I believe health and healing result from treating the whole person and as such, I embrace an integrated and holistic approach to meet the individual needs of each client. This may also involve techniques that focus on relaxation and stress reduction, guided imagery and mindfulness to help provide a foundation for growth and change.
I enjoy being a part of the life-changing process that can transform a person from using self-defeating thoughts, patterns and behaviors to ones that empower and strengthen individuals to believe the best in themselves and to strive for the life that they desire to live. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your journey to a happier, healthier, you!

Do you often find yourself struggling to sort out your thoughts and feelings about events in your life? Have there been times in your life when you have wondered if you have made the right choices or if there are other possibilities for you? We have all experienced life changing experiences that have shaped us into the people we are today. Sometimes, a little help from a compassionate and empathetic listener is all that is needed to set your course. Other times, a more in depth exploration of thoughts and feelings is needed before we begin to feel better. Whichever situation describes you currently, I am here to listen and to help.
I have been in practice for over 14 years and have had experience working with a diverse group of individuals, couples, and families. Together, we have explored trauma events and their impact on individuals and families, family relationships, couples issues, and depression, anxiety, infidelity, spiritual dilemmas, and many other experiences that have an effect on the day-to-day living of individuals.
Working with at-risk adolescents and their families, I have found ways to integrate a fusion of counseling techniques and theories to accomplish counseling goals. As a former school counselor, I am in tune with the personal/social, academic, and post high school decisions and issues facing young people today. I have had a great deal of experience in counseling individuals and families impacted by addiction and substance abuse. I enjoy focusing on men’s issues and on the interplay of socialization of males and expectations of partners in relationships. I spent many years working with men in the field of domestic violence and helping them to find alternative behaviors and beliefs. I have also had the privilege of counseling with members of military, both active duty and veterans, and their families. Working with this particular group has become a passion for me and I have both training and experience in counseling for PTSD, acute trauma, adjustment to civilian life, and other issues that affect our military and veterans. Within my work, I have discovered that grief is often an underlying concern that impacts all other areas of my clients’ lives. For that reason, I have come to view grief and grief counseling as a specialty area in my skill set.
For me, counseling is a passion. Being a counselor is not just a career, it encompasses my identity as a person and as a professional. I find that my professional identity as a counselor and my personal identity as a mother, grandmother, wife, and friend are fused in such a way as to be indistinguishable.
