Fellowship-trained spine surgeon Dr. Gene Massey was invited to teach the prone transpsoas (PTP) surgical technique to the neurosurgery residents at the Medical University of South Carolina last week.

This hands-on cadaver lab, hosted by the MUSC neurosurgery and ortho-spine departments, focused on advanced minimally invasive approaches to lumbar spine surgery. Dr. Massey’s expertise and commitment to education continue to advance the future of spine surgery and support the training of the next generation of surgeons.
