🌟 Resident of the Month – December 2025 🌟

Congratulations to Thais D.! Born in Yonkers, New York, Thais spent her early months in foster care before being lovingly adopted at 16 months. She grew up with two sisters and a brother, graduated from the American Institute of Banking, and built a remarkable 24-year career in banking.

Thais is a devoted mother of two, grandmother of three, and step-grandmother of one. She has also shared her love for children through daycare work and contributed to her community through office work in Worcester County, NY.

Now a cherished member of the Angel Oak family, Thais enjoys warm days outdoors, playing BINGO, and relaxing with television, crossword puzzles, and word searches. She considers Angel Oak her true home and appreciates the love and support of her family especially her daughter-in-law, who visits often.

Born and raised in Minnesota, Kevin became a licensed Physical Therapist in 2003 and has since built a career rooted in compassion, dedication, and exceptional care.

His close relationship with his grandparents sparked his early interest in working with seniors, ultimately guiding him into the rehabilitation field. Over the past 8 years as the Rehab Director at Angel Oak, Kevin has remained incredibly loyal, maintaining a consistent, high-performing therapy team that shares his commitment to supporting residents on their journey to recovery. He credits his success and long-term job satisfaction to the remarkable therapists and nurses he works alongside, all united by a shared mission of delivering outstanding, resident-centered care.

This month we’re proud to highlight Sheila Dugosh, Administrator at Angel Oak.

Shelia brings a long history of dedicated service in senior living communities throughout South Carolina. A licensed Physical Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Sheila combines clinical expertise with a deep passion for helping others.

With a strong background in geriatric rehabilitation, nursing, and post-acute care management, Shelia leads with compassion and a commitment to excellence. She attributes Angel Oak’s outstanding clinical outcomes, positive reviews, and operational success to the strength of our interdisciplinary team—a group that truly understands how teamwork enhances the quality of life for those we serve.

We’re proud to recognize Shirley C. as Angel Oak’s Resident of the Month!

Shirley was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina. After graduating from high school, she married her beloved husband, Jack, and together they raised two sons. Much of Shirley’s life was devoted to caring for her family, especially her one son who has special needs.

Alongside her family life, Shirley dedicated many years to volunteering. She began as a candy striper—known then as a “Pink Lady”—at the local hospital and later served for over a decade as a Red Cross shelter volunteer. In recognition of her dedication, she and her son were honored in 2000 with a plaque from The Sun News as Volunteers of the Year.

In 1992, Shirley moved to the Myrtle Beach area, where she has since enjoyed a rich family life that now includes two grandsons and two great-grandsons.Today, while living at Angel Oak, she loves exploring the building, chatting with others, and participating in activities like BINGO. Shirley says it has truly been a pleasure to call Angel Oak her home. 💛
