👨‍⚕️ Honoring a Lifetime of Healing 👩‍⚕️
Last week, we celebrated the retirement of a true pillar of our medical community.

With more than three decades of dedicated service to Nacogdoches, Dr. Edwin Ferren has faithfully cared for countless patients and made a lasting impact on generations of families in East Texas. At a special ceremony, Memorial leadership presented him with a plaque in recognition of his extraordinary commitment, compassion, and contributions to healthcare in our region.

It was a moment of gratitude, reflection, and deep appreciation for a physician who has served with unmatched integrity and heart. The legacy he leaves behind will continue to shape the future of care in our community for years to come.

Please join us in thanking Dr. Ferren for his service, and in wishing his a joyful and well-deserved retirement. 🩺💙

💗 Together in Pink: Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon at Memorial 💗

On October 23, our hospital family and the Nacogdoches community came together for a truly special Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Emmerentie Oliphant. With powerful words on early detection, screening options, and local support, the day reminded us why awareness matters: finding cancer early can increase long-term survival rates to 99%.

Guests gathered in our pink-filled lobby for fellowship, a delicious lunch, and the sweetest part, our Bake Sale! Every cookie, cake, and pie purchased supported the Nacogdoches Memorial Healthcare Foundation, helping us give back directly to our community.

This month alone, thanks to our foundation and community partners, 25 mammograms were donated to women in need. That’s 25 opportunities for early detection, for hope, and for saving lives.

A huge thank you to Don and Joyce Mills, our own CEO Rhonda McCabe, and the Memorial team who baked, decorated, and served with love. And to everyone who joined us, wore pink, and stood together, your support makes a difference.

📌 Together, we’re more than a hospital. We’re your community, your support, and your partner in health.

Raising Awareness!! Shout out to our team in admissions!

Last night, our Board of Directors signed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with Tenet Healthcare Corporation, the parent company of Nacogdoches Medical Center, to explore the possibility of working together to strengthen healthcare in our community.

🎯 This a collaborative effort.
📄 The LOI is not a final agreement. It is simply a framework for discussion.
💙 Our mission and values remain unchanged: we’re here to serve Nacogdoches with high quality, accessible care for everyone.

This process takes time and we will keep you updated every step of the way.
