“The Threads of Dál Riata”
A Highland Love Woven Into Infinity
Forged in polished tungsten, this matching set embodies a story carved from heritage, devotion, and the ancient soul of Scotland.
At the center of each band rests a rare and remarkable textile:
a hand-woven tartan created at Dunollie by clan women specifically trained to reproduce the ancient pattern discovered in the castle in 2010.
This “pre-clan” tartan predates formal clan heraldry, echoing the era of the overkingdom of Dál Riata, where Picts, Celts, and Vikings shaped a rugged lineage along Scotland’s western coast. The weave itself carries the visual memory of a culture older than surnames, banners, or crests.
Encased beneath crystal-clear finish, the tartan retains its vibrancy as though freshly lifted from the loom — a preserved fragment of living history.
Framing this central inlay are two outer channels composed of stone taken from The Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye, a place renowned not only for its dramatic landscape but for its role in a lifelong love story. The stone was gathered during a hike taken near the couple’s 25th anniversary — a moment marked by quiet vows made in the shadow of the ancient pinnacle, tying the present to the past with remarkable intention.
The resulting rings unite three powerful elements:
ancestral craft, sacred earth, and enduring love.
The Dunollie tartan preserves clan history stretching back across centuries.
The stone from Storr embodies the land where promises were renewed.
And the circular form creates an infinite symbol — a reminder that some bonds do not simply last, but evolve, deepen, and root themselves like the highland cliffs.
These bands stand not only as wedding rings, but as artifacts of legacy:
a merging of homeland, heritage, memory, and future, captured in a pair of circles meant to endure as steadfastly as the love that inspired them.
