🐾 Welcome Dr. Drew Davis to the VVH Family! 🐾

We’re thrilled to introduce Dr. Drew Davis, who will begin seeing General Practice appointments and surgeries starting January 6th — and he also treats exotics with scales and fur! 🦎🐍🐹

Here’s a little about him:

🌾 Southern Roots
Dr. Davis is originally from the Wiregrass region of Southeast Alabama — proudly known as the “peanut capital of the world.” He’s known for communicating clearly, diagnosing efficiently, and caring for every patient as if they were his own.

🎓 Extensive Training
• Earned his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and DVM degrees at Auburn University
• Completed a Small Animal Surgery & Medicine Internship at BluePearl in Nashville, TN, where he trained under top specialists and even treated pets owned by some of his favorite musicians
• Completed a specialty surgical internship in Dothan, AL, gaining advanced surgical and emergency experience across multiple states

🌄 Experience in Idaho
He’s been caring for Idaho pets since 2022, and has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2019.

💙 Veterinary Interests
Soft tissue surgery, cancer care, cardiology, feline medicine, ultrasonography, geriatric care, and exotic species (with feathers limited to chickens & ducks!).

🏞️ Outside the Clinic
Dr. Davis enjoys time with his wife and kids, hiking with his dogs, fishing, and cheering on Auburn basketball and football.

🐾💙 ONE YEAR LATER… LOOK WHO CAME HOME TO VISIT 💙🐾

Our sweet boy Soldier (now named Dexter) stopped by VVH Monday — one year after finding his forever family.

If you remember, last summer, this tiny, injured pup came through our doors fighting for his life. Today?
He walked in like a completely different dog — Happy, Healthy, and so deeply Loved.

✨ Talk about a glow-up.
From 60% wounds to living his absolute best life… Dexter is proof that healing + love is a pretty unbeatable combo.

To everyone who donated, shared his story, supported or followed his journey — you helped this little guy get the future he deserved.

🐶 From critical condition to a thriving family member.

VVH will always be part of your story — and you’ll always be part of ours. ❤️

🐾 Meet Charlie — Our One-Year-Old Goodest Boy 💙

This handsome little dude was transferred to us after a suspected vaccine reaction. He’s not feeling his best, super sad eyes and all… but he’s still purring, still asking for loves, and still being an absolute angel. 😭💛

💉 A quick PSA for all pet parents:

Vaccine reactions in cats can look very similar to reactions in dogs. Keep an eye on your furbabies after their vaccines — if you notice vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or anything that feels “off,” don’t wait. Give your vet a call ASAP.

Tiny Tigger & His Big Brave Moment 🧡🐾

Sweet little Tigger, our 4½-month-old Yorkie heart-stealer, came in because he was squinting his left eye. After some gentle diagnostics, we discovered a corneal ulcer — ouch! 😢

But listen… this boy was an absolute angel through every step.
No drama. No sass. Just pure, tiny-dog sweetness.

With treatment in place and lots of love from his humans, Tigger’s on the road to healing — and yes, he’s still the cutest baby ever. 🥹✨

From Stuck to Spunky: Penny’s Big Comeback 💪🐶

Poor little Penny gave everyone a scare this week after getting herself stuck in a recliner (girl… same 😅). By the time she made it to us, she was having trouble breathing. Our team discovered she had developed NCPE (Non-Cardiogenic Pulmonary Edema)—basically, fluid in the lungs not caused by the heart, often triggered by trauma.

We got her tucked into oxygen like the princess she is 👑, and before long… Penny was back to being her sassy, zoomy, chaos-gremlin self.

We love Penny.
And we really love puppies who bounce back like nothing happened. 💙🐾
