The Rockland Council had the opportunity to participate in Cohort 14 of the OASAS Leadership Academy.

Our leadership team — Executive Director Linda Ferdico, Director of Prevention Margarita Santana, and Director of Recovery Nancy Taylor — completed the training together, strengthening our collaboration and approach to leadership.

The academy focused on leadership styles, effective communication, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion, trauma-informed leadership, supporting staff through stress and burnout, and recognizing the impact of secondary and vicarious trauma.

We appreciated the opportunity to take part in this training. It has supported our growth as an organization, and we continue to apply what we learned to better support our team and serve our community. We would highly recommend this opportunity to others in the field.

The Rockland Council was grateful to attend the New York Council on Problem Gambling’s 2026 Conference, “Champions of Change: Addressing Gambling Harms Together.”

We appreciated the chance to deepen our understanding of problem gambling and engage in important conversations about its impact on individuals, families, and communities.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and bringing what we learned back to Rockland County.
