✨ Take a moment to zoom in on the photo above to discover what Kelly loves most about being the Resident Council President. ✨
🌱 What is Resident Council? 🌱
Resident Council in a skilled nursing facility is a resident led group that meets to share ideas, voice concerns, and help shape life in the community.
At its heart, it’s about giving residents a voice and a sense of leadership in the place they call home.
Residents choose their own officers (like a president) and guide the meetings and discussions.
It creates a safe space for residents to express concerns, make suggestions, and share what’s important to them, from dining preferences to activities to daily routines.
Staff attend to listen, support, and follow up on ideas, helping turn feedback into real improvements.
It gives residents a sense of ownership, connection, and purpose, reminding everyone that they are not just receiving care, but actively shaping their environment.
It brings people together, builds friendships, and creates a culture where residents support one another. 🤍
In skilled nursing, where individuals may be navigating big life transitions, Resident Council becomes a space of dignity, choice, and continued living. What a gift! ✨
