🌟 Employee Spotlight: Luz Gamino-Rodriguez, Physical Therapy Assistant 👏🏼

At Napa Valley Care Center, we are so lucky to have team members like Luz, steady, compassionate, and deeply committed to her patients. 💛

✨ 12 years in healthcare
Luz brings over a decade of experience to our therapy team, and it shows in the thoughtful, individualized care she provides every single day.

🌟 What we do best at NVCC?
“Providing compassionate, patient-centered care. We prioritize both the physical and emotional needs of our patients.”

And she lives that. Luz meets each resident where they are, not just physically, but emotionally too.

🧠 What she wishes people knew about therapy in skilled nursing:
“Every patient has different medical challenges, so therapy in skilled nursing is highly tailored. We adjust interventions daily to meet each patient’s needs and tolerance.”

Therapy here isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s intentional, adaptive, and built around each individual’s journey toward strength and independence.

The talented Pickle Creek Band stopped by to play for our residents, bringing a wonderful mix of banjo, guitar, violin, and cello.

Moments like these remind us how powerful music can be, bringing comfort, connection, and so many happy memories to life. ✨

We loved welcoming our amazing friends from Caligraphy Assisted Living to Napa Valley Care Center for a special nursing inservice + appreciation visit! 🌟

They showed up with LOTS of love for our nursing team. They felt so celebrated. Nothing brightens the day quite like thoughtful partners who take the time to pour care into our staff. 💐

We value staying connected with our Napa community partners we work alongside every day. When we come together, share knowledge, and lift each other up, it only strengthens the care we provide for those we serve. 💕

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Andrea Mora, LVN 🌟

Our hearts are so full celebrating one of our wonderful licensed vocational nurses, Andrea Mora 💕

Andrea has been in healthcare for 3 years, beginning her journey in the East Bay as a new graduate before returning home to her hometown of Napa two years ago… where we were so lucky to welcome her into the Napa Valley Care Center family.

From the moment she arrived, Andrea has brought compassion, teamwork, and a beautiful sense of dedication to our residents and to one another.

When asked what we do best at NVCC, Andrea shared:
✨ “NVCC is wonderful at coming together as a team to work for the best interest of our residents. We celebrate our wins together and learn from our struggles together.”

She describes skilled nursing in the most thoughtful way:
🕰️ “Skilled nursing is very much like the inner workings of a clock, so many parts are needed and come together to make something big happen. From the moment we take on a patient to the minute they are discharged, staff are working around the clock to make it all happen.” (No pun intended 😄)

☕ When she needs a boost, coffee is her go to.
🎧 She loves listening to audiobooks.
❤️ Her greatest joy is spending time with her energetic kids and loving husband.
🍿 And nothing beats a nostalgic movie night to unwind.

Andrea, thank you for the kindness you bring, the care you give, and the love you pour into our residents and team each day. You are part of the heartbeat of NVCC, and we are so grateful for you.

❤️ Valentine’s Day Spotlight: Ivonne Rivera, Infection Prevention Nurse ❤️

Today we are celebrating someone who brings so much heart, wisdom, and dedication to Napa Valley Care Center, our incredible Infection Prevention Nurse, Ivonne Rivera. 🌟

Ivonne has been in healthcare for 22 years. With over two decades of experience, she brings a a wealth of knowledge to our healing center.

✨ What do we do best at NVCC?
“NVCC excels in our collaborative spirit, celebrating each other’s achievements and taking a proactive approach to problem solving.”

That collaboration is a huge reason why our overall star rating is 3 stars and our Quality Measures have reached 5 stars. Infection control plays a vital role in those outcomes, and Ivonne is a big part of that success. ✨

🛡️ What she wants people to know about Infection Control:
“Infection control is a cornerstone of public health and clinical practice. It’s not purely technical, it requires sustained behavior change and a strong organizational culture.”

It’s policies. It’s procedures.
But most importantly, it’s people committed to doing the right thing every single day.

We surprised our incredible staff with a Valentine’s Day buffet filled with ice cream floats, candy, cookies, and cupcakes, just a small way to say THANK YOU for the big hearts they bring to work every single day.
