😳 Let's face it: the bustle and stretch of the holiday season can be taxing on anybody, even the most cheerful and optimistic. Here are four 4️⃣ tips that we hope will ease your path:

🎁 The best and most joyful gift to yourself is to give to others.
🛷 The second-best gift to yourself is to “let it be.” Relax, lighten up, and go with the flow.
🗑️ Consider discarding worn-out traditions. If a tradition only gives you a headache every year, perhaps it's time to throw it out with the used wrapping paper.
👥 Remember what the holidays are about. Family kindness and togetherness, camaraderie with friends, and one's spiritual progress are more important than life’s smaller details.

💔 Are you a survivor of the su***de of someone close to you? Chances are that many readers are survivors—or know someone who is. Nearly 50% of people in the U.S. know someone who has died by su***de.

Today, International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day, promotes the support of survivors, as the grief and trauma of su***de can be especially difficult to handle. If you are a survivor, we offer a variety of online support groups. 👉 Click here for more information: https://bit.ly/3GOQJpB.

👟👟 Did you know that one pair of shoes can save a life?

We didn't either...until we met PB, one of our participants in the Providence Adult Day Health program here in Napa.

For the last 10 years, the only footwear PB was able to wear were Crocs—it was hard to find shoes that would fit and would help prevent fall-related injuries (the leading cause of injury-related death among seniors). 👉 Enter our "Necessities of Life" fund, which allowed our therapy team to research and find a company that would come on-site to measure and fit PB and 19 other participants for the safest footwear possible.

〠 Did you know today is World Kindness Day? As Amelia Earhart said, “A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.” 🌱

To celebrate, consider:

☎️ Calling a relative you haven’t spoken to in a while
👥 Chatting with a stranger and ask them about their day
💳 Paying for a stranger’s coffee or meal
✍️ Writing a nice note to your server on the receipt at a restaurant

When you participate in the PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) all aspects of your care are carefully coordinated with your PACE team. We truly believe that older adults with chronic care needs deserve to receive support in their own communities.

As a PACE participant, we’ll coordinate all your appointments at the clinic, with your optician, dentist, or physical therapist—plus, we’ll arrange transportation to make your visits stress-free! If you're 55 or older and need nursing-home level care but wish to stay at home, PACE could be the perfect fit for you.

Reach out to our PACE team today for more information—we're here to help! 🌟

🌛 Alzheimer’s Disease is one of the cruelest diseases—because a sufferer seemingly “disappears” until the person they were…no longer exists. National Alzheimer’s Disease Month, each November, reminds us that over 5 million Americans are so affected. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia in 60-80% of all diagnosed cases.

👉 Did you know that each year, American caregivers provide over 17 BILLION hours of unpaid care?

🏆 We think that’s enough to honor them for a whole month—which is officially November, National Family Caregivers’ Month. At Community Health Napa Valley, we think the patience, dedication and special kindness of caregivers should be celebrated year-round. But a dedicated month is not bad for starters.
