Grow Sport Psychology will be at Packet Pickup on Friday morning with mental skills, tools, and resources to help you feel confident and prepared for the 1/2 Marathon this Sunday!

One powerful strategy we’ll be sharing is how to create and use your own r𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀. Mantras are short, intentional phrases that help you stay focused, regulate your effort, and push through tough moments.

𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁 is on the rise and it’s affecting more than just performance! It’s not a sign of weakness; it’s a signal that the body and mind have been pushed too far for too long. Mental exhaustion, stress, and emotional fatigue can be just as limiting as physical injury, yet they’re often overlooked in sports culture.

Supporting athletes means more than training plans and performance metrics. It means creating environments where it’s okay to speak up, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁, and ask for help.

Coaches, teammates, and support staff play a crucial role in recognizing the signs of burnout early and fostering recovery strategies. Whether that’s mental health resources, flexible training schedules, or simply checking in with genuine care.

Athletes at every level face mental health challenges, it’s just not always talked about. UCLA women’s basketball player Lauren Betts recently shared her experience with depression in The Player’s Tribune, opening up about the pressure, the expectations, and the internal battles so many athletes carry quietly.

Her story is a reminder that taking care of your mental health is just as important as training your body. You’re not weak for struggling, and you’re not alone in it.

Athletes are more than their performance, and supporting mental health is part of reaching your full potential. Creating space for these conversations is how we start to change the culture of sport.
