Holiday Skin Tip #3: Exfoliate once a week. We tend to apply more make-up than usual during the holidays to look fabulous. A lot of ladies opt for a 12-hour foundation to keep their make-up in place through out the whole night. By exfoliating the skin, you are not only prepping the skin for a smooth foundation application, but you are removing all the dead skin cells and impurities that can lead to breakouts.

Holiday Skin Tip #2: The holidays bring lots of parties, which typically means more make-up than usual. Before going to bed, always cleanse your skin and remove all traces of make-up. Never ever fall asleep without cleansing your skin. This will give your skin a chance to breathe!

Holiday Skin Tip #1: Many soaps are drying, so it's important to wash with a liquid non-soap cleanser. Look for cleansers or moisturizers that include botanicals, plant extracts like chamomile and lavender (both are naturally body-replenishing.) Botanicals are often soothing as well; ideal for wind-chapped or exposed skin.

We are proud that our own Dr. Olivia Hsu Friedman co-authored a collaborative research paper published this week in the British Journal of Dermatology. The title is: Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) Syndrome: Developing Diagnostic Criteria through a Modified Delphi Method.

The article contributes to the database of research on TSW, which is a crucial step in expanding care and establishing ways to correctly diagnose and treat TSW patients.

"I thank my co-authors and everyone who worked so hard to make this a reality. It was an honor and privilege to work with them," says Dr. Olivia. You can read the full article at this link:

Healthy skin starts with healing the root cause . . .

. . . not just managing symptoms.

That’s why you may have tried so many medications only to find out they didn’t work for you, or why they may make your skin feel or look better -- but only for awhile. Your problem keeps coming back because conventional treatments don’t always resolve the health imbalances causing your skin condition.

Herbal medicine naturally stimulates your body to work as it was meant to, allowing your skin to regenerate. It begins healing your condition from the inside out. When you resolve the internal imbalances causing your skin condition, the reward is lasting skin health. By treating the root cause, you CAN get your natural skin back!

We use herbal medicine protocols under the direction of Dr. Olivia Hsu Friedman to effectively treat dermatological issues like acne, eczema, TSW (topical steriod withdrawal), psoriasis, rosacea, vitiligo and other skin conditions.
