To celebrate National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, some of our residents ventured out to the Naperville Police Department with home made cookies and other treats to thank them for all that they do to keep us safe each day!

The 300 Bistro Kitchen smelled very good and tasty as the team made cookies yesterday. The ladies were very busy reading, cracking, measuring and mixing the ingredients for our two chip cookies. The ladies decided to use two different types of chips, white and semi sweet for the cookies that will be taken to the Naperville Police Department in the future. they were very specific as not to put to much of any things and some of the ladies didn't, mix anything, they had the task of double checking ingredients. once the dough was ready they rolled up some mini dough balls and placed them on the pans, as Michael [put them in the oven and the kept rolling. there was lots of smiling, laughter and chatter about how good they smelled and also wanting to taste test once finished.

We carried on our holiday tradition of going out to see the Holiday Lights of Naperville last week. After dinner the group boarded the bus and were ready for the holiday adventure. There were lots of wows as we drove past the displays and also along the way we saw many trolleys doing a lights tour like we were. Some of the displays were very simple and tasteful, while others were done very elaborate in color and could be see a block away. There were also a few that you could tell grow eve year, due to seeing the old- vintage and new decorations intermixed. Much fun was had and everyone enjoyed themselves very much.

As we are getting ready for the Holiday, we had an early visit from Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and one of their elves for a family celebration. As families gathered in the lobby we took carol requests and sang a carols in anticipation of their arrival. Then low and behold in they walked and the magic of the morning happened for our families and residents. They made their rounds to see everyone in the room and then got comfortable in the Christmas Thrones so that people, could take pictures and make memories. Everyone enjoyed the treats that Evelina provided, many memories were made and there was plenty of holiday laughter that filled the room.
