Shoulder pain is extremely common, and it often begins in the muscles around the shoulder blade before spreading into the joint and down the arm.

Some common symptoms include:
• Pain in the shoulder or upper back
• Muscle weakness around the shoulder blade
• Difficulty reaching overhead

Shoulder pain can be caused by several things, including:
• Muscle strain or spasm
• Poor posture from long hours sitting or driving
• Repetitive movements or overuse injuries
• Pinched nerves in the neck or upper back
• Rotator cuff irritation or impingement
• Arthritis or joint instability

Because the shoulder is such a mobile joint, it’s also one of the easiest to irritate.

Massage therapy can help reduce tension, improve range of motion, and support recovery so you can begin strengthening the area again.

⚠️ If shoulder pain occurs along with nausea, shortness of breath, cold sweats, or pain radiating into the left arm, neck, or back, call 911 immediately.

Did you know your shoulder is actually TWO joints?

Most people think of the shoulder as one joint - but it’s actually two systems working together.

The Shoulder Joint
Where your arm bone meets the shoulder blade socket. This ball-and-socket joint allows you to lift and rotate your arm and move it in many directions.
It’s supported by the deltoid, pectorals, lats, and the rotator cuff (a group of four muscles that stabilize the shoulder), along with ligaments and the labrum.

The Shoulder Girdle
This involves the movement of your shoulder blade and collarbone along the ribcage. Muscles like the trapezius, rhomboids, and serratus anterior control this movement and provide structural support.
Your shoulder blade essentially “floats” along your ribcage, which gives the shoulder incredible mobility - but can also make it easier to irritate.

When either part isn’t moving well, problems can develop, including pain, tightness, loss of range of motion, or decreased stability. It’s also very common for issues to occur in both the shoulder joint and the shoulder girdle at the same time.

Understanding how the shoulder works can help you take better care of it.

Daylight Saving Time is this weekend. ⏰

An hour may not seem like much… but your body notices.

Seasonal transitions and schedule shifts can affect:
• Sleep quality
• Energy levels
• Muscle tension
• Stress patterns
• Focus and mood

When your rhythm changes, your nervous system has to adapt - and sometimes that shows up as tight shoulders, headaches, restlessness, or just feeling a little “off.”

Moving out of the hibernation period of winter, massage can help prepare your body for a more active lifestyle in spring.

Our sessions are designed to help regulate the nervous system, improve mobility, ease tension patterns, and support your body as it adjusts to seasonal changes.

Season shifts are normal. Feeling supported through them can be too.

You handle a lot.

You’re dependable. Productive. Capable.
And most of the time… you push through.

But high-capacity people often override early signs of stress. Tight shoulders. Shallow breathing. Constant tension that feels “normal.”

Your body keeps score - even when you don’t slow down long enough to notice.

Support isn’t about weakness.
It’s about sustainability.

You deserve care that helps you keep showing up - without running on empty.

Flexibility and mobility are not the same thing and knowing the difference matters!

Flexibility is your muscle’s ability to lengthen.
Mobility is your joint’s ability to move with control through its full range of motion.

You can be flexible and still feel stiff.
You can stretch daily and still feel restricted.

Why? Because mobility isn’t just about length: it’s about strength, stability, coordination, and nervous system support working together.

When mobility is limited, the body often compensates. Over time, that can lead to tension patterns and discomfort.

At RecoverWell, we focus on supporting how your body moves as a whole - not just how far it can stretch.

Working on both flexibility and mobility consistently can support smoother movement in everyday life and physical activity. Balanced movement patterns may also help lower the likelihood of strain over time.

Someone busier than you is making time for a massage right now.

Let that be your reminder - taking care of your body isn’t indulgent, it’s essential!

In a world that constantly asks you to do more, choosing to pause is powerful.
Make the time. You deserve it.

Cysts don’t just “show up.”

They’re often a sign that the body is overwhelmed - whether from inflammation, hormonal imbalance, sluggish detox pathways, or a congested lymphatic system.

Your lymphatic system is responsible for moving waste, excess fluid, and cellular debris out of the body. But unlike your heart, it doesn’t have a pump. It relies on movement, breath, and manual stimulation to flow well.

When lymph becomes stagnant, the body can struggle to properly clear buildup and that can contribute to swelling, tenderness, and recurring cysts for some people.

Lymphatic drainage therapy is designed to gently stimulate that flow.

It’s not aggressive.
It’s not painful.
It works with your nervous system - not against it.

By supporting circulation and reducing congestion, we help create an environment where the body can do what it’s designed to do: regulate, repair, and restore.

If you’re dealing with recurring cysts, it may be time to look beyond the surface and support the system underneath.

Healing is often about improving flow, not forcing change.

There’s a lot of noise in the wellness world.

All in.
All out.
“Perfect” eating.
Extreme cleanses.
No days off.

But living at either extreme of “healthy” isn’t actually healthy.

Short resets can be helpful. A focused stretch of discipline can bring awareness back to your habits. But white-knuckling your way through rigid rules or swinging to the opposite end in burnout? That’s stress on the body - and stress doesn’t heal.

I believe in balance.

Real health is sustainable.
It supports your nervous system.
It allows room for joy.
It honors where you are today - not where social media says you should be.

Wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s about consistency, awareness, and giving your body what it needs to recover and function well long-term.

Balance isn’t settling.
It’s strength.

Struggling to fall asleep… or stay asleep? 😴

If you’re tossing and turning, waking up stiff, or feeling exhausted even after a full night in bed, your body may not be fully relaxing.

Sleep isn’t just about closing your eyes - it’s about calming your nervous system and allowing your muscles to truly let go.

In this video, I’m sharing simple things you can do at home to support better, more restful sleep.

And if your body still won’t settle, massage can help.

At RecoverWell, I use intentional bodywork, heat therapy, targeted muscle work, and gentle stretching to calm the nervous system and release built-up tension. When your body feels safe and supported, deeper sleep can follow.

Better sleep isn’t a luxury - it’s essential for healing and recovery.

If rest has been hard to come by, let’s help your body truly unwind. 💛
