Myofascial release therapy utilizes gentle, firm, and sustained pressure to release tension and restrictions within the fascia. This treatment is non-invasive and can be performed throughout the entire body. At the start of your session, your provider will work with you to identify the most stiff areas of your body that contributes to your pain. Cupping may also be utilized to assist in the release of fascia.

During this Myofascial Release Therapy sessions, there will be no performance of direct treatment to the pelvic floor or specialized physical therapy techniques.

To help the patient’s limited dorsiflexion (bending at the ankle to bring the toes upwards), Mary is performing manual treatment to reduce tension in the muscles and fascia of the calves. She followed-up this treatment by addressing the soft tissues at the bottom of the feet to further improve mobility. Techniques like these are often paired with individualized stretching and strengthening to:
-Increase range of motion
-Decrease pain
-Reduce risk of falling due to improved balance
-Walk and squat in a stable and comfortable manner
