Strength x Speed = Power which equals DISTANCE
The more speed and power an athlete can generate and greater the force that they can put out, can help to increase club head and ball speed, which ultimately gives them more distance.

The energy system mainly used here is the ATP-Pcr system which uses phosphocreatine stored in the muscles to help create short explosive moments such as a push, pull, or rotation. The energy system last about 10 seconds and is what most power and speed athletes rely on during their lifts or competition.

Recommendations for reps and sets
1-5 reps
3-6 sets
2-5 minutes in between each set
Strength/speed: 70 to 85 percent 1RM
Speed/explosiveness 30 to 60 percent of 1 RM

This past weekend was special to watch win on the ! John sets such an example for young pros and juniors on how to approach professional golf.

What sets him apart: He brings the best attitude to every session. There’s no complaining, there’s no excuses, there’s no blaming.

He shows up EARLY every single time.

He trusts the professionals he works with to guide him down the right path without overthinking or questioning the direction.

He’s created balance with golf and life 👏🏽

He’s learned from mistakes and disappointments and he’s come back better each time. Many people find excuses or place blame on things outside of their control. I’m truly impressed with his resilience and his grind over the past couple of years.

We have been using 3D measurement at Par 4 Fitness for over 10 years. It started with KVest but now we utilize to model our golfers. SportsboxAI is able to take a slo motion swing and give us real time feedback on 50+ significant measurements of the body. The new swing report is also a fantastic addition to their product. We can instantly analyze iron and driver swings to create a custom report for each player! ⛳️💪🏼

For Speed: we are able to see the velocity of each segment of the body as well as the sequence of your movement. Amateurs do not typically use the ground well and will start the downswing with the upper body. This disrupts the flow of energy while ultimately making you slower. Ideally we want energy to flow from the feet, to the hips through the torso, to the shoulders and ultimately out into the hands and clubhead. If your body is moving well and you’re strong in the right areas, you are simply going to be more efficient than the next player.

For injury management: sportsboxAI will show us areas that are susceptible to injury. The speeds of each segment help to show where energy is disrupted or lost throughout the swing. It can also show us which areas may be overworking to compensate for a bigger issue. Sportsbox also allows us to make sure you are moving within your body’s ability. Many amateurs tend to overswing and then need to compensate in the downswing to get the club back to the ball. A specific example would be too much torso side bend in the downswing (one of the key contributors to low back pain in golf). Minimizing these compensations can be key to allowing you to play without pain.

For Performance: we have always thought it is important to collect data on our clients to gauge improvement. In some cases it’s also very helpful to collect data when our players are striking the ball particularly well. This gives us a model that we can always fall back to should things start to go awry. If you’re not measuring you’re simply guessing.
