This Saturday marks a bittersweet and deeply meaningful milestone for one of our most beloved partners. πŸ’™πŸ΄

After years of steady service, Clyde will be stepping into a well-earned retirement. Clyde will be returning to retire with the loving family who originally donated him to our program, bringing joy back to their home pastures. It feels full-circle in the best possible way and we thank his family for the opportunity to share his love.

January 17 will be Clyde’s last day at NTRC, and we invite our community to come spend time with him this week, share a pet, a hug, or a heartfelt thank-you before he heads home.

Visits can be scheduled by contacting us at (239)596-2988.

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to Claire Lawrence, volunteer, for her years of dedicated care, consistency, and love for Clyde. From daily routines to the small details, Claire’s bond and commitment helped ensure Clyde always felt (and looked) his best. Thank you for being such an important part of his story.

Clyde, from all of us, thank you. πŸ’›

⏳ One week to go until we hit the trails! ⏳

Join us next Sunday, January 18, for Hoof & Hike, a community-powered event with a purpose that goes far beyond the trail.

Did you know that you do not need a horse to be part of this day? In fact, the heart of Hoof & Hike is our 5K walk. Hiking participants can expect a scenic route through Picayune Strand State Forest that’s perfect for friends, families, and leashed dogs.

However, we couldn’t offer the Hoof without our local equine community! Bring out your favorite horse and explore the short or long riding trails for a day well spent in the saddle.

πŸƒ What’s a Poker Run?
As you explore the trail you’ll stop at checkpoints along the route to collect playing cards. At the finish, you’ll turn in your hand for a chance to win prizes. It’s fun, low-pressure, and adds an extra layer of excitement to the event. No poker experience required.

πŸ’š Why Hoof & Hike matters:
Every registration supports the lifelong care of Naples Therapeutic Riding Center’s retired therapy horses. These steady partners spent years helping children and adults build confidence, strength, and connection and this event helps ensure their retirement is secure, peaceful, and filled with the care they deserve.

🎟️ Register today:

Stay tuned. Raffle previews will be posted tomorrow!

As we close out 2025, we find ourselves reflecting on a year that shaped Naples Therapeutic Riding Center in ways we will carry with us for a lifetime.

No single post could ever capture the full scope of the impact made this year and only a tiny amount is highlighted in this reel.

From record-breaking events and incredible community support, to new friendships formed and lives forever changed, 2025 strengthened us and reminded us why this work matters so deeply. Each stride forward was powered by the trust between horse and human, and by a community that continues to believe in the power of connection and care.

The impact of this year will be felt far beyond the calendar.

2025 will live in the highest regard at NTRC. As we step into the year ahead, we do so with gratitude, momentum, and a deep commitment to the lives we serve. What was your favorite memory this year?

Thank you to our participants, families, volunteers, donors, staff, partners, and friends who make our mission possible. Because of you, our arena has been filled with confidence, connection, and joy all year long.

Our herd is enjoying some well-earned rest, and we hope you find the same peace this season brings.

Wishing you comfort, joy, and a bright start to the New Year. We can’t wait to see everyone back in January for another season of smiles and life-changing moments. β„οΈπŸŽπŸŒ΄

Every week, participants from David Lawrence Center’s Crossroads Program come to NTRC for private sessions that support their recovery journey. These sessions use structured activities with our horses to help build regulation skills, confidence, communication, and healthy connection. Each visit is supported by their health care professionals in partnership with our PATH Intl. Instructor.

Horses naturally respond to human emotion and body language, creating an immediate and honest feedback loop. This allows participants to practice awareness, boundaries, problem-solving, and trust in a way that is both experiential and impactful.

We are only sharing the non-identifying portions of the paintings, as the opposite sides included personal reflections and participant names. The artwork shown features symbols of peace, hope, connection, and joy through rainbows, hearts, positive words, and bright colors. These images reflect the themes explored during the session and demonstrate how creativity and horses can support grounding, expression, and meaningful moments of growth.

We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with DLC and the opportunity to support the important work they do in our community. πŸ’™πŸ’›

Today we honor Jane, who has spent the past decade making an extraordinary impact at Naples Therapeutic Riding Center.

For ten years, Jane has given her time, her strength, her kindness, and her steady presence to our barn and arena. She has supported riders with patience and joy, cared for our herd with dedication, and brought a spirit of compassion that touched everyone she met.

Over her 10 years of service, Jane has volunteered an incredible 1,280.40 hours β€” the equivalent of 32 full workweeks devoted entirely to our mission. What a remarkable testament to her commitment.

While we will miss seeing her each week, we are so excited for her next chapter and the adventures ahead.

Please join us in thanking Jane for 10 incredible years and wishing her all the best.

Once a part of the herd, always a part of the herd. ❀️🐴✨

We’re excited to share highlights from one of our newest programs β€” Lead & Learn Visits!

These equine-assisted learning (EAL) field trips blend hands-on education, confidence-building, and plenty of quality horse time.

Students from Gulf Coast High School’s ESE program were our third group to join us, and their two-hour visit was packed with nonstop fun.

They learned about our horses and their care, practiced leading, and wrapped up their experience with an equine art opportunity.

Even better? The photos we're sharing today come straight from a slideshow they created for us!πŸ’›

We’re thrilled to continue welcoming student groups to the barn and creating meaningful learning moments through horses.

To bring your class or organization to NTRC, please contact cvanorsdale@ntrc.org or give us a call.
