The Clinic was honored to participate in “Day at the Capitol” in Tallahassee with Florida Assoc. of Free and Charitable Clinics.
Our team met with State Representative Yvette Benarroch, State Representative Lauren Melo, and a legislative aide to Senator Kathleen Passidomo to share more about our mission, the patients we serve, and the impact of free and charitable clinics in our community.
We look forward to welcoming our legislators to the Clinic this summer for a tour and continued conversation about how we can work together to ensure access to quality care for those who need it most.

In 1998 the Neighborhood Health Clinic was an idea conceived in the Lascheid’s kitchen- just two short months after Dr. Bill and Nancy Lascheid retired from their full-time Naples dermatology practice. The concept of a medical clinic for the working poor gained momentum and attracted supporters. With shared enthusiasm of friends and help from professionals and volunteers in the community, the Clinic was able to open its doors in April 1999.

The Original Clinic
The Clinic’s first medical location was space donated by NCH Healthcare System in the now-demolished Grand Central Station commercial complex on Goodlette-Frank Road. A generous contributor donated funding for the construction of a new building and in 2003 the Clinic moved into its current location at 121 Goodlette Road North – a state-of-the-art medical facility -mortgage free. The continuing generosity of donors and this community has allowed the Clinic to flourish.
