We are excited to share that all three of our adult critical care units have earned Silver‑level Beacon Awards for Excellence from the American Association of Critical‑Care Nurses!

More than 575 critical care units across the country applied for Beacon recognition in 2025, placing NCH’s teams among an elite group dedicated to evidence‑based practice and high‑quality care.

A sweet celebration for a big achievement! 🎂

Congratulations to the dedicated team at the NCH Baker Emergency Department on becoming one of only three emergency departments in Florida to earn Geriatric ED Level II accreditation. Having this designation elevates care for our older population, reduces preventable injuries, and helps decrease unnecessary hospital admissions.

NCH and Northwestern Medicine continue to strengthen their collaboration, bringing world-class cancer care, research, and education to Southwest Florida.

Over the past year, the collaboration has expanded access to advanced oncology services and enhanced cancer screenings. It has also led to a new Graduate Medical Education (GME) affiliation that will provide more than 80 NCH residents and fellows with enriched training, mentorship, and research opportunities.

Key milestones include opening the Jim and Fran McGlothlin Outpatient Infusion Center and the NCH Gynecologic Oncology Clinic.

“NCH’s strategy is grounded in premier collaborations that elevate the level of care we deliver,” said Paul Hiltz, President and CEO of NCH. “Together with Northwestern Medicine, we’re bringing cutting-edge cancer expertise to our community.”

Philanthropy continues to fuel this vision, with $20 million raised toward a $60 million goal for a fully integrated cancer program.
