🧠 Social Emotional Learning Through Play 🧠

At RISE Pediatric Therapy, we use meaningful, play-based activities to help children build social and emotional skills in a supportive setting. In this video, the kids are exploring emotions with Play-Doh faces and Velcro felt boards, learning about the brain on the interactive whiteboard, role-playing with puppets, and working together through giant Jenga.

These activities help children develop emotional awareness, communication, and problem-solving skills in ways that are both engaging and effective.

Pediatric occupational therapists help kids recognize their interoceptive signals, like a fast heartbeat when they’re anxious ❤️‍🔥, a tight tummy when they’re nervous 😟, or knowing when they’re hungry, tired, or need a break 🍽️😴🚽 These internal cues are closely tied to emotions.
