TMJ isn’t just about the jaw.

The Glossopharyngeal (CN IX), Vagus (CN X), and Accessory (CN XI) nerves exit together at the cranial base and play a key role in swallowing, posture, stress regulation, and jaw tension. When this deep nerve trio is irritated, TMJ symptoms often flare—especially during high stress.
By calming the nervous system and restoring balance at the cranial base, jaw tension can decrease dramatically.

A gentle ear pull can create meaningful change.
This temporal bone distraction is a simple, light-touch technique used in craniosacral and osteopathic manual therapy to help reduce tension around the skull and jaw.

By gently drawing the ear away (and slightly downward), we support decompression of the temporal bone, improve comfort around neural structures, and encourage relaxation through the nervous system.
