"Our heart is wide enough to embrace the world and hands are long enough to encompass the world." - Amit Ray

This season isn’t about perfection, it’s about connection. The holidays bring chaos, but within that swirl of schedules, gatherings, and endless lists lies a deeper invitation: to embrace the abundance that is before us.

Connect to your breath and body with us on Saturday, so that you can see yourself and others with clarity this week:

"Loving yourself is magical but it is not magic, it is an unremarkable, necessary decision."
-Della Hicks-Wilson

To embrace is the whole body’s choreography of connection. We create space and open our capacity to hold the whole of human experience, which is inclusive of joy as well as pain and sorrow.

In yoga, every embrace is anatomical poetry: muscles lengthen, joints align, breath expands. It’s how we welcome ourselves, each other, and the practice.

Come embody the embrace through discipline, flow, and release:

- Ashtanga Elements · 7:00 am with Amy

- Vinyasa Flow · 9:00 am with Amy

- Strength, Mobility & Yin · 10:15 am with Cesar

This week during our Season of Embodiment, we contemplate the word 'embrace.'

In yoga, santosha (contentment) invites us to soften into the truth of who we are—right here, right now. To embrace is not to fix or force, but to welcome.

This week at Naples Yoga Center, we will practice embracing the body you are in and the breath as it arrives. Yoga reminds us that wholeness isn’t something to achieve, it’s something to remember. Join us, arms wide, heart open

Did you know that your brain is wired to continue to perform the same habits that have been serving you in one way or another for your lifetime? We often have to make a conscious choice between living as ourselves and living on autopilot.

Autopilot feels like circling the same path without noticing the scenery. Self-recognition feels like pausing, breathing, and realizing: I am here. Yoga is the practice of catching ourselves in those loops, and of waking up from the mechanical way into the living pulse of awareness. On your mat, notice: Am I repeating patterns unconsciously, or am I awake to the rhythm of my own presence?

This week at NYC: Recognize

Yoga invites us to pause and recognize, and to see clearly what is already here. In the Yoga Sutras, recognition is the first step toward liberation: noticing the patterns of mind (vrittis), the sensations of body, the truths we often overlook.

On the mat, recognition is embodied:
- Recognize the breath as a steady anchor.
- Recognize tension as a teacher, not an enemy.
- Recognize strength and softness coexisting within you.

Beyond the mat, recognition deepens:
- Recognize your true self (Purusha) and the unchanging witness beneath thoughts and roles.
- Recognize your true nature as compassionate awareness, which is unchanged by circumstance.

When we recognize, we reclaim awareness. We shift from autopilot into presence. Recognition is clarity and the doorway to compassion, to resourcefulness, to freedom.

This week, let your practice be a recognition: of your body’s wisdom, of your mind’s stories, and your radiant self.

"Tightness and tension is the ego's way of rejecting the information of the body, and withdrawing from what the body knows."
— Reginald Ray

This Saturday at NYC, we invite you to soften, listen, and embody what your body already knows. Each practice is a chance to move beyond tension and into presence.

“The mind is like the wind and the body like the sand: if you want to see how the wind is blowing, you can look at the sand.”
— Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen

On Thursday, we explore how the currents and fluctuations of the mind shape the landscape of the body. Each practice becomes a way to notice, to embody, and to align with the subtle winds of awareness. In our practice, we ground into the rhythm of breath and allow our movement to reveal the direction of the mind.

A Season of Embodiment

This holiday season, we invite you into a journey of presence, reflection, and fulfillment. From December 1st to January 1st, join us for a four-week exploration of embodiment—each week guided by a theme to inspire your practice, your listening, and your living.

- Week One: Embody – Inhabit your body, awaken awareness and remember your aliveness.

- Week Two: Recognize – See clearly, honor what is present, and honor who you are.

- Week Three: Embrace – Welcome yourself, all of you, with compassion.

- Week Four: Fulfill – Step into wholeness, celebrate completion and the yogic principal of being and doing enough.

Week One: Embody (Dec 1–7)

This week we invite you to inhabit your body fully. Notice the breath, the weight of your feet, the rhythm of your heart. The body whispers before it shouts, so this week we listen closely to what is both subtle and sacred. Embodiment is your birthright, but the fast, modern world can steal this by marketing to what you perceive to be missing from your body and life. Yoga asks us to question that faulty belief and remember all of the ways the body works to support and hold us.

At Naples Yoga Center, our classes are infused with the wisdom from human anatomy, physiology and yoga philosophy. We offer the most intelligent practices and an education to connect you to your body.

Begin your 'Season of Embodiment' with us on Tuesday:

In every pose, there’s a quiet invitation: draw inward, gather your energy, and return to center.

The midline is an axis of balance, the place where opposites meet. When we hug muscles toward bone, when we draw limbs toward the body’s center, we remember wholeness.

Discover this with Cesar on Saturday:

This Week: Gather
Gather together.
Gather to midline.
Gather within.

"I have not been inside a love story. I have been a love story: my very body, a clamorous, complicated interplay of beings disagreeing, singing, swooning, and melting together. I don’t know where the love goes. But I know that every time I breathe out, it overflows." -- Sophie Strand

This week of Thanksgiving, let practice reflect the ways we gather community, breath, and presence.
