Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair
Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is a minimally invasive procedure performed through a few small incisions around the shoulder. A tiny camera (arthroscope) provides a magnified view inside the joint, allowing the torn rotator cuff tendon to be carefully repaired using sutures and advanced knotless anchors that secure the tendon back to the bone.
Rotator cuff tears don’t heal on their own, and when significant pain, weakness, or loss of function is present, surgical repair can greatly improve strength and shoulder mechanics. Arthroscopic repair often leads to less postoperative pain, lower risk of stiffness, and a faster initial recovery compared with traditional open surgery. Patients typically begin guided physical therapy shortly after surgery to restore motion, followed by gradual strengthening as the tendon heals over several months.
