You’re doing something amazing every time you read to your little one! Research shows those moments are building their language in big ways! 📖
In ‘When Children Are Not Read to at Home: The Million Word Gap,’ Logan JAR, Justice LM, Yumuş M, and Chaparro-Moreno LJ (2019) found that by age 5, children who are read to daily may hear over 1 million more words than their peers, showing just how powerful shared reading can be for language growth.
Even just one book a day can make a huge difference in building vocabulary, understanding stories, and preparing your child for reading success! And don’t forget: talking about the pictures, asking questions, and repeating favorite stories all count. 📚
