This past week residents gathered after exercise class to hold Resident Council. It is an open forum for all residents where concerns about dietary, maintenance needs, and any other problems can be addressed. It is not only for concerns though, but also for the good things that have happened since the last meeting. We appreciate all the feedback and we will gather again in February.

Take a look and see what senior living is at Heritage House. Stepping inside is just the first piece of your journey. Outside yardwork is all taken care of – from mowing to shoveling by our maintenance team. Meals are taken of as well in our restaurant-style dining room where we take care all components from food preparations to dish washing. Inside there is no need to plan a housekeeping day because our staff takes care of that as well.

Your loved one or you can enjoy the finer things in life instead of housework. If you do need a little help one our staff members is just a pendent push away. Stop in and see Heritage House for yourself and all the wonderful things we offer!

Happy Halloween from all of us at Heritage House! Residents and staff were dressed up in goofy outfits and spent the day smiling and giggling. The afternoon was spent playing Bingo and having some delicious snacks. We also held a costume contest during Bingo and winners will be announced next week!

Heritage House would like to wish Donna Wolfe a very spooky and Happy Birthday today! 🥳🎃

Donna was born and raised in VanWert, Ohio with her one brother. She was a country girl and spent many days playing outside. Her mom didn't drive and her dad worked nights so she did not get around to many clubs. She graduated high school in May and by that August she was a married women. She and her husband welcomed five kids together. Donna spent those young years raising her children and enjoying life. She was an avid bowler for a bit and once her children were grown she and her husband joined Holiday Rambler where for the next 25 years she traveled with her husband to every state except Hawaii, Alaska, California, Oregon, and Washington State. She also enjoyed camping on weekends she was not traveling. She also enjoyed her time at church being on the board and teaching Sunday school and choirs.

What a spooktacular evening at Heritage House for our annual Trick or Treat night. Superheroes, dinosaurs, and many other costumes came in to enjoy the evening. The best part though was the smiles and laughs on the residents' faces!

For this Testimonial Tuesday we hear from Kathleen "Kat" Oradat who moved in July of this year. Kat is always on the go either at bible study, playing the piano, having visits with friends, and playing with her pup, Snickers. She said, "I absolutely love this place. The people are wonderful and the food is amazing. I am so glad I chose Heritage House."

Heritage House’s Trick or Treat night is only a few days away and we would like say a huge thank you to all the families, residents, and staff members that have donated candy for this amazing night. We would like to also thank local Nappanee businesses: Martin’s, Key Bank, and Visiting Angels for donations to help sponsor this event.

Bring on your best vampires or zombies, we are very excited to see them all on Wednesday, October 29th from 5 to 7 pm!
