Years ago, conversations around seasonal mood changes were minimal. Now we understand that shorter daylight hours can disrupt circadian rhythms, lower serotonin activity, and impact energy, sleep, and motivation. Increased awareness around Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) has helped normalize seeking support, using light therapy, prioritizing movement, and building protective routines during colder months.
Progress in mental health means replacing dismissal with education, and stigma with support. If winter feels heavier for you, you’re not imagining it, and you’re not alone. 🤍
