I love being down the street from the Nashua Performing Arts Center. Friday night these guys wandered in. They are some of the musicians playing with the Neil Diamond experience! Left to right: me, Steve Engle, Don McCabe, Steve Barbieri. Trumpet, sax, trombone.

I have a beautiful older Holton H181 in the shop right now. Some of the slide tubing is worn out and fractured. It has always been a challenge finding proper replacement tubing for Holton French horns. It can be found made out of yellow brass, but all Holton’s use nickel slide tubing and I always want to use the right stuff whenever possible. Today I found a way to get close! I had some tubing that may have been for a Conn french horn .468” x .498”. The outside diameter is too big! Holton needs to be .468” x .493”. So I chucked it up in my honing machine, and using an external hone I ground the outside diameter down to .493”. I should have been doing this years ago!

We did it! All in, benches built! We still have a way to go getting settled, but we are operational! The new entrance is right at the corner of Main & Franklin. Parking entrance is off of Franklin behind the building. Stop on by...even if it's just to wish us well and see our progress!
