Today we proudly hosted our annual Road 2 Recovery Nash/Edgecombe Block Party—a powerful reminder of what can happen when community, compassion, and purpose come together.

This event is more than just a gathering; it represents hope, unity, and second chances. Reentry is not a journey meant to be walked alone. It takes a village—people who are willing to support, uplift, and invest in the lives of returning citizens as they rebuild and reclaim their futures. Creating spaces like this allows individuals to connect with vital resources, build meaningful relationships, and feel seen, valued, and supported within their community.

We extend a very special thank you to Dr. Bernard Grant, Lady P, and Showers of Blessing for graciously hosting this impactful event. Your commitment to serving others and creating opportunities for restoration does not go unnoticed.

We are also incredibly grateful to all of the vendors, community partners, and leaders who showed up and showed out. Your presence, resources, and dedication continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.

Together, we are building stronger communities, breaking barriers, and creating pathways for successful reentry—one connection at a time.

We had a fantastic day taking our residents to the Reentry Symposium hosted by Word Tabernacle and Let’s Start Over LLC! The room was filled with inspiring speakers and invaluable resources. It’s so important for our residents to see that they have a community behind them that genuinely cares and wants to see them thrive.

This year’s NCDAC Conference was truly exceptional. Our agency had the honor of serving on a panel where I shared insights on transitional housing and emphasized the critical role that programs and supportive services play in successful reentry.

The conference featured impactful remarks from Governor Stein, First Lady Stein, and many other distinguished leaders, all reinforcing the importance of collaboration and innovation in serving our communities.

It was also inspiring to hear Kerwin share his vision for his newly acquired prison, which will be the first of its kind in the nation—an initiative that has the potential to reshape how we approach rehabilitation and reentry.

Overall, the conference was a powerful reminder of the progress being made and the work still ahead to create meaningful change.
