Save your spot for Mindfulness Hour!

Mindfulness Hour is a weekly group therapy session focused on learning and practicing practical mindfulness skills you can use in daily life. Each session is guided by our clinical intern therapists, Anna, Hallie, and Mason.

We meet in person at 6pm at our Oak Hill office.

Upcoming dates: Monday, March 2 and Tuesday, March 10.

We love this group because mindfulness can support emotional regulation, ease stress, anxiety, and depression, improve focus, and strengthen relationships. Join as a supplement to your ongoing therapy, or come as a standalone session.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT, is a structured, skills-based approach to help people who experience intense emotions.

It’s often used for mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, self-harm behaviors, chronic suicidal thoughts, trauma-related symptoms, and ongoing relationship conflict.

DBT combines talk therapy with practical tools like mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. The goal is to help you respond to overwhelming feelings in ways that feel steadier and more intentional over time.

Hey Nashville! We made this post for anyone trying to decide if you should use insurance for therapy (because it isn’t always simple.)

For some people, insurance makes counseling feel financially possible and easier to stick with.

For others, the idea of needing a diagnosis, sharing information with an insurance company, or having session limits brings up hesitation.

It can help to slow down and look at the details: what’s your deductible? Your copay for mental health counseling? How many sessions are covered? Are you comfortable with the requirements that come with insurance?

There’s no one right choice for everyone. It’s all about what feels sustainable, private, and supportive for you - whether you’re seeking help for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, or a tough season of life.

Our Story

The Cedar Tree story is a story of strength, resilience, and survival in the face of challenge. Much like mental health, actually.

When we bought our house a few years ago, much of the back yard was overgrown with dense brush and vines, so thick and thorny that we couldn’t see through it. We decided to plant a small garden there, and after the winter started clearing the brush. The work was tough, but after a few days we discovered a scrawny little cedar tree, barely alive. It looked almost as bad as Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree. But we carefully cleared around it, gave it a little fertilizer. It started growing. Its color became brighter, its trunk stronger, and the branches spread. With access to light, water, and nourishment, it thrived. In a few months, it looked like a different tree, and now, a few years later, it’s 30 feet tall, symmetrical, lush, and beautiful. People are like that too. Someone fighting stress, anxiety, depression, or other life and mental health challenges may need help. Once the challenges are cleared, we not only survive, we thrive!
