We recently celebrated Cynthia and her incredible career as she approaches retirement this December after 38 years with Howell Allen. Her kindness, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to her patients and team have touched countless lives. Whether going the extra mile for a patient or offering a listening ear to a colleague, Cynthia’s heart and compassion have been a guiding light in our office. She will be deeply missed, but we are so grateful for the lasting legacy she leaves behind. Thank you, Cynthia, for being such an inspiring partner and friend. Today we celebrated the Howell Allen Clinic and Ascension Saint Thomas Heart location in Dickson, a space that brings advanced brain, spine, and heart care together under one roof.

Though the space is new, Howell Allen Clinic has been honored to serve the Dickson community for more than three decades. We’re proud to continue that legacy in partnership with Ascension Saint Thomas and Dickson Medical Associates, expanding access to expert care across Middle Tennessee.

We’re proud to celebrate two team members who recently won the BEE "Being Exceptional Everyday" Award.

Belinda was recognized for giving her all each day, combining her insurance expertise with genuine compassion for patients. From praying with patients to leading our “The More You Know” insurance huddle segment, she goes above and beyond to ensure accuracy and support her teammates.

DeAnna was praised in a heartfelt patient letter for her exceptional care. She went out of her way to provide driving directions, offer attentive wound care support, and ensure a smooth recovery experience. Her compassion left a lasting impact.

"I had thoracic and lumbar surgery performed by Dr. Brian O'Shaughnessy. From my very first appointment with him, I knew my back problems were finally going to be corrected. He sat down with me, explained everything thoroughly, and told me that my original lumbar surgery had not been done properly, but he could fix it along with the issues in my thoracic region.

He looked me in the eye and said, “I will fix it, and your problems will be over and done." He has kept that promise. I now stand upright, walk normally without limping, and have a smooth, confident gait.

I felt very confident after my first meeting with Dr. O'Shaughnessy, and he delivered on every word. For that, I am truly grateful to him and to the wonderful staff at Howell Allen Clinic. After suffering for two and a half years in pain and walking bent over, I finally feel like a new man.

Every day that passes, I find myself even more thankful to Dr. O'Shaughnessy and to everyone who supported me. My surgery was critical and complicated, yet he pulled it off flawlessly.

Dr. O'Shaughnessy, I cannot thank you enough for what you’ve done for me. I feel truly blessed to have had you as my neurosurgeon."
